Which is better, a BFS from IMT Ghaziabad or PGP from IIM Kashipur?

Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (IMTG) is India’s premier AACSB accredited management school and is ranked 37th by NIRF 2020. Whereas, IIM Kashipur is ranked 33 for MBA by NIRF 2020. It is recognized by AICTE.

IMT Ghaziabad BFS:

• It offers the AICTE approved PGDM (Banking and Financial Services) Programme in partnership with Vlerick Business School.
• The program has been launched in the academic year (2019-20). The first batch has 32 students.
• Vlerick faculty delivers 40% of the courses. Students are given an option to complete a boot camp in Brussels and London.

Admission-

• A valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT is required for admission.
• The qualified students need to appear for an interview conducted by the institution for final selection. PGDM in BFS costs around 17.5 lakhs.

Placements- The BFSI sector offered 26% of PPOs and 19% of the total job offers. Absolut Data, Adobe, Amazon, Axis Bank, Cognizant, EY, Flipkart, Genpact, Honeywell, HSBC, ICICI, Infosys, Reliance, Mahindra, Zomato were the major recruiters at the institute.

IIM Kashipur PGP:

It offers PGP programs under 6 specializations.

Admission-

• Graduates with 50% marks (45% in case of SC, ST, PWD) are eligible for admission.
• Students also require a valid CAT score. IIM K conducts WAT and PI for the final selection.

Placements-

Google, Microland, Mondelez, Tata Chemicals, DMI Finance, Oberoi Group, Bank of Baroda & MakeMyTrip, KPMG, Deloitte are the top recruiters in IIM K.

• In IIM Kashipur, 72 companies made placement offers for 215 roles to 196 students.
• Even though the batch size was increased by 40% in 2020, there was a rise in the average package offered.
• The IT & Analytics domain dominated the placement with a 31% placement rate.The BFSI sector had around 24% of the placements.
