SRM is a good institute, especially for departments like CSE and IT. There are excellent placements, good projects, good entrepreneurship opportunities. Many students also go abroad for higher studies. But securing a good placement opportunity or getting a scope for higher studies depends less on the institute and more on your ability.

• The placement cell in SRM University is very good. It gives its best effort to bring all good companies to the college for placement of students in all departments.
• The departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Information technology have several tie-ups with international universities and MNCs. One of the most glorified names in the list of foreign institutes is Penn State University. 
• Several MNCs like Nokia, Fujitsu, NEC, etc also have work collaborations with the institute. Through these collaborations, students get to work on their projects, under supervision. 
• The average salary received this year was 10 LPA while the highest package was 41. 6 LPA. 
• There are some faculties in the university who are excellent in their teaching. They make students understand the concepts of certain topics in depth. But, this is not the case with every faculty in the institute.
