Can I get admission in BTech with 95/200 marks in Manipal University?
Well, a precise answer cannot be possible, it totally depends on the cutoff and the branch. I have many friends who have successfully secured a seat at Manipal University. Check out the following insights on the cutoff and admissions.
- Keep in mind that the entrance paper will be quite long and there’s no way to finish it on time. Keep around 1/2 hr in the middle so you can make guesses for the questions you don’t know, as there is no negative marking.
- A few years back one of my friends got 157/200 in MUOET and was the first one to take up a Mechanical engineering seat in Manipal campus with a rank of 462. The cutoff ended at 6K odd rank.
Nonetheless, there is no fixed score to get you in, as it changes with every branch. With 95/200 marks it is recommended to try in Jaipur campus as it can be quite easier as compared to the main campus. Also, if you have no idea about which branch is best for you, then blindly go for CSE/IT because these branches have the maximum placement opportunities. In the end, you might get admission in some of the other subjects for even 11000 ranks but when it comes to placements, it might get troublesome.
How do I get admission to the BIT Mesra CS/IT branch?
BIT Mesra is a renowned and oldest Government Funded Technical Institutes of the country.

What is the exact counselling procedure for the B.Tech admissions in BITS Pilani?
The whole counseling process completes with a total of 5 rounds of seat allocation for its various courses at various campuses. The whole process is given below, in brief.
- First you have to fill out the campus preference form online.
- After the first round of seat allocation, the selected candidates have to pay a part of the fee for seat locking without which you would not be considered for further rounds.
- Then the second and the third round of seat allocation takes place after roughly every 10 days.
- After the third round is over, you need to report to your allotted campus within 7-8 days. You would have to get your hostel allocation and all other hostel amenities as well after you visit the campus.
- In the final admission, document verification takes place and you will need to pay the full 1st-semester fee minus the seat locking fee paid earlier. On this day also you need to “freeze” your campus. If you freeze your campus, then you are eligible to get the higher preference branch only in your campus where you have taken the admission. If you do not freeze your campus you are still eligible for the other campus programs as well.
Finally, the 4th and the 5th rounds of seat allocation happens usually in the first two weeks of August and the process is completed.
What is the admission procedure for B.Tech programs at Thapar University?
Thapar University takes admission based on JEE Mains marks. To get admission at Thapar, you will need to fill up an admission form where you will have to put all your basic details and your academic scores. You also need to pay the application fee. You will be shortlisted for admission based on your JEE Mains rank.
You will have to score well in JEE mains in order to be selected. Thapar University calculates the rank of all the applicants and this is known as TU rank.
After the selection, there will be two counseling sessions and onsite counseling where you will be allocated your streams which will be based on your TU rank.
Which is the best for B. Tech admissions among VSSUT Burla, IIIT Bhubaneswar, CET Bhubaneswar, and IGIT Sarang?
Having to go through reviews myself and as some of my friends studying in these colleges, I might be able to give you brief information about these institutes. Following which you can base your decision on.
VSSUT Burla –
- VSSUT is the oldest engineering institute in Odisha with some of the best faculty.
- The campus has a huge library.
- Some of the alumni from this university are well placed.
- The campus is located in a remote place.
IIIT Bhubaneswar –
- The campus is located in the capital city.
- It has better placements compared to other elite colleges in the city (Investment to CTC ratio wise).
- Better in CSE/ IT/ ECE branches as compared to CET.
IGIT –
- Some branches are good but not all of them.
- The location of the college is a constraint.
- The college has a decent placement record.
CET Bhubaneswar –
- The infrastructure is not yet developed.
- The faculty is not that good.
- The college has a decent to average placement record.
- The campus is located in the capital city.
- A good place for living and more opportunities for preparation for higher studies.

If you want to learn core subjects then choose VSSUT. If location is your priority then choose CET or IIIT Bhubaneswar. Overall, all four colleges are good. Choose the one that satisfies your requirements.
How much donation is needed to get B.Tech admission in Heritage Institute of Technology through management quota?
I have a few friends from Heritage Institute of Technology and here is their insight on the management quota admission at the institute.
According to them, for IT, the management quota fee goes up to 12 lakhs. If you have a decent academic record you can bargain to bring it down to 10-11 lakhs. For ECE, the fees go up to 16 lakhs.
However, before taking admission at Heritage through management quota you should know that you will not be missing out much if you choose to go to other colleges affiliated with MAKAUT. You will have almost similar placement opportunities and exposure.
What documents are required for an admission in a B.Tech in Heritage Institute of Technology?
To take admission through the counseling round in Heritage Institute of Technology the student must bring certain documents for identity verification and verification of the submitted documents during the online filling of the application.
The documents include: -
- Admit Card
- Score Card of the exam
- The seat allotment number
- Medical certificates if any
- Signed affidavit for anti-ragging in the institute.
- Mark sheet of class 12th result from CBSE or any equivalent board.

IET Lucknow is a state government engineering institution in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is a separate college under Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. I have a few friends from the institute and they were able to provide some information regarding the admission process.
- To get admission to B.Tech programs you must have passed a 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks from any recognized board or university to be eligible for the degree level engineering program.
- Admission to the B.Tech program is done through an entrance exam called UPSEE, which is administered by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).
- SC and ST categories will be offered a 5% mark waiver in the eligibility requirement.
- According to state government regulations, the college takes 20% of total sanctioned candidates on the basis of JEE Main.
- Candidates for lateral admission must have a minimum of 60% in a 3-4 year diploma from a recognized university sanctioned by the U. P. Board of Education.
