Remarks :
First of all, you have to give NEET entrance exam to get admission to any medical college in India and you should have more than 50% in PCB in your +2 examination. There are different cutoff marks for different colleges in different states. Along with this, there are some specific reservations for SC, ST, EWS, OBC, and PWD students. The NEET exam was conducted yearly and after your result, you have to see which college you can get into according to your mark and rank. Then you have to apply for counseling on specific websites(for example, in Odisha OJEE conducts the counseling procedure)and you will be allowed a college on a merit basis and the choices you filled for colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty here are highly skilled and educated. They were very dedicated to education and are very friendly. There is also a great number of professors and assistant professors for each subject. And last but not least if you are pursuing mbbs then you have to pass through a tight schedule, a large number of exams, practicals, viva, and many more but you should think that you have to deal with human life and it is a novel profession. So you have to study a bit harder to pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Students have to take a compulsory internship for one year in the college. During the internship period, you will get good clinical exposure and get a chance to deal with different types of patients. After completion of the internship, only the student can get his/her mbbs degree. During the internship, the period student doesn't have to pay any course fees to the college. They will only pay the hostel fees. The government colleges in Odisha give 24000 stipends to internship students but in Hitech college, they give 18000 per month.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
This is the worst thing about studying medicine in semi-government or private medical colleges in India. The fees are very high like 10 times the fees students pay in government colleges. The total fees will be around 40lakhs for complete mbbs in Hitech Bhubaneswar and there is no concession or reduction of fees for any students. You can apply for specific scholarships in the national scholarship portal but these are very less as compared to the fees of the college. Also, students have to sign a fee increment bond which states that if the government decides to increase the fees of the college then they have to pay the increased fees.
Campus Life :
The college infrastructure is the best thing you get in the college. Great campus with good patient flow, well-furnished labs, and very nice classrooms and playground. The best thing is the library which is greatly designed and you will find almost every book that you need during mbbs. There are yearly sports competitions and celebrations of every Indian festival. There is also a variety of clubs like drama, dance, sports, etc which are run by different groups of students. At the year's end, the college organizes some fests or DJ nights, or dandiya nights which give refreshments to students in their hectic schedule.
Hostel Facilities :
There are two types of hostels available in the college. First is 3 seated AC rooms and 3 seated non-AC rooms. The yearly fee for a nonic room is 1lakh rupees and for an ac room 40,000 extra. The mess food is above average and you will get breakfast, lunch, snacks/tea, and dinner. The worst thing is the non AC rooms are very small, congested and not value for money. There are also no specific study tables and students have to study on their beds. The college will provide a cupboard for each student and there are attached bathrooms in each room. Overall the hostel is average but the fees are very high.
