Remarks :
The minimum eligibility for getting admission at NITs is that one must have cracked JEE Main exam with a decent rank. This exam is conducted twice per year by NTA. At NIT Andhra Pradesh, a 50% quota is reserved for home-state students. Branches are allocated on the basis of the rank scored by the candidate.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Like many other students, rank was the only factor that determined my branch here. I had an interest in petroleum, and that's why I chose this course. For 100 students, there are 11 faculty in the chemical engineering department. All the faculties are highly qualified. In each semester, exams are conducted 4 times which are easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
The college itself does not provide any internships before the final year. If someone wants to go for an internship before the final year, focus on your coding skills in one language, and learn development skills (like- backend, frontend, android, ML, etc.).
Placement Experience :
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements. Companies start visiting from the end of the 6th semester itself and placements continue till the end of the final year. For the 2022 batch, more than 100 companies visited, and out of 480 students, 93% got placed. Deloitte USI and Capgemini were the mass recruiters. The average package for that batch was 6 LPA and the highest on-campus package was offered by KickDrum (15 LPA for CSE only). Whereas, Amazon offered the highest off-campus CTC of 47.5 LPA. Currently, I have been placed at Deloitte USI (7.6 LPA).
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
According to the fee structure, the cost of study here is very less compared to other institutes. The college itself does not provide any scholarships. Talking about placement and jobs, the highest package in the 2022 passed-out batch is 47.5 LPA by Amazon (off-campus).
Campus Life :
At NIT Andhra Pradesh, the one and only techno-cultural fest named VULCANZY is conducted in the month of February. Campus life is not that satisfactory here like in other colleges. Books and journals are all time available here at the central library. Sports facilities, here are a plus point. However, clubs and societies are there in this college but there is a lot to improve.
