Course Curriculum Overview :
I'm currently pursuing B.tech in Mechanical Engineering, a core branch, and Pantnagar is known for this branch besides Electrical and Civil Engineering. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields, some are even IITians. the faculty members use a combination of lectures, practicals, and projects to deliver the course content. Some branches like Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical might have their classes from 9 to 5 while it can be a day off for branches like IT. Out of the 8 semesters, each semester has 2 pre-finals and 1 final exam, and lab exams for some subjects. To pass the exams you've to score at least 50% in each subject otherwise be ready for the back.
Placement Experience :
From the first semester of the 4th year, the placement process starts. Many companies like Hero Motors, Ashok Leyland, Nestle, TCS, and L&T visit the campus for interviewing students. The average package is about 4-5L. Most of the students prepare for GATE, UPSC, and other govt. exams as they get a good time for preparations.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure can vary based on the program. The fees include tuition fees (25k in my case), library fees, examination, and hostel fees if you opt for it. The approximate fee for the 4-year B.tech program is 4L excluding your personal expenses. The scholarship is awarded to some BPL students. In recent years, there is an increase in on-campus placements. Many companies like L&T, TCS, Suzuki, and Ashok Leyland offer good packages to students. The average package is 5 lakhs.
Campus Life :
The college has a rigorous academic schedule which keeps students engaged in their studies. Apart from studies, there is some fest organised by the students of various clubs itself like colosseum, razmatazz, and sports events like spardha. Students can join different college clubs as well as University clubs which organize many fests and events in the University. College of Technology has its own library but all the students prefer to go to the University library which has all the books related to the courses and is a great place to study.
