Remarks :
The admission process is quite hassle-free. After giving JEE Main, students can directly fill up the form for HBTU counseling, the date checking and form filling can be done on the following link:- https://hbtu.ac.in To be eligible for HBTU counseling, the applicant should have scored an aggregate of 60% (for general) and 55% (for sc/st/obc-ncl) in class 12th. Basic documents required for application are:- Aadhar card, classes 10th and 12th mark sheets, Migration or Transfer Certificate (any one of them), Domicile certificate (in case your parents are of UP domicile and you did your class 12th from any other state), Parents' income certificate (in case you apply for fee waiver seat for which your parents' income must be upto 6lpa), category certificate (in case you have category quota), Medical certificate. Reservation in HBTU is as 21% for SC, 2% for ST, and 27% for OBC. The admission process is already applicant friendly and does not need any improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am pursuing B.Tech (Computer science and engineering). For the general category, CSE closes at around 22-23k AIR in JEE Main. For me, the curriculum of this branch is slightly easier to understand and also, CSE has the highest placements with an average of about 12-14 LPA, and almost all students of CSE get placed. Overall, the average package ranges between 8-9 LPA. Faculties of every department are well qualified (almost all are Ph.D. holders) and they are experts in their fields, there are different teachers to teach different topics of the same sub. We have 2 mid-semester exams and 1 end-semester exam for each semester. Mid-semesters are held after every 3 months and the end semester is taken every 6 months. To pass the exams, you just need to focus on whatever is taught in the class, passing the exams is not a big deal but you have to maintain at least 75% attendance in the class to appear for the exams except that if you have a medical emergency, then min. 60% of attendance is required.
Internships Opportunities :
Students are eligible for internships from 3rd year onwards. There are various companies /organizations where students get opportunities for paid/non- internships which include:- Flipkart, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-BHU, Coding Blocks, and many more.
Placement Experience :
Placements are quite decent in HBTU, from 3rd year onwards students become eligible for paid or non-paid internships in various companies based on which they get PPOs (pre-placement offers). The placement drive starts in the final year, companies that visit for on-campus placements include:- Samsung, Amazon, Wipro, Paytm, JIO, Cognizant, Airtel, Havells, etc. The highest package offered during the 2021-2022 placement drive was 44.5 LPA by Amazon to 2 students from the CSE branch. The average package roams around 8-9 lpa including all the branches and around 12-14 LPA for CSE specifically. Almost 100% of CSE students get placed every year and overall more than 85% of the students get jobs every year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee for the B.Tech program is Rs.135000 per year. Hostel+mess fee is around Rs.61000 per year. If your parents' income is upto 6 lakh per annum, then you can apply for a fee waiver seat (regardless of your category) while doing choice filling and the top 3 fee waiver applicants from every branch get the fee waiver seat in which you need not have to pay the tuition fee (Rs. 75000) during the duration of the course. All the other applicants (who do not get fee waiver seats) can apply for the UP govt scholarship according to the eligibility criteria set up by the UP govt. HBTU has decent on-campus placements with the highest package of 55 LPA (by Amazon) and an average of about 8-9 LPA (CSE average is around 12-14 LPA).
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is pretty decent. There is a central library on the main campus equipped with all the books that you will need for your program (there are no comics!). Classes are equipped with smart boards and fans, lecture halls are equipped with normal blackboards and air conditioners. Various sub-councils in HBTU take care of various clubs for your personality development. The sports sub-council frequently organizes various sports tournaments like cricket, badminton, volleyball, and many more in which anyone can participate after the screening. Then there is ASCPC (Alumni Student Connect Program Committee) which is dedicated to organizing different events like alumni meetings etc. in the college. The link for information regarding all the clubs is:- https://hbtu.in/club We have various events and fests like Aarambh, ChemCon, Adhyaay, etc. held every year, these fests are tech-oriented with some fun and cultural program.
