Shivaji University: A decent place to study and evolve!

Remarks :

The course's eligibility criteria are simple. You ought to cross the cut-off marks of the institute which changes every year. To apply to have to register in the govt allotment process or CAP round where you can select this college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

IK was a PCm student with good marks so given the demand in the market and suggestions from my career counsellor I opted for this course. The faculty is good and reliable. The examination process is a little strict and tough to follow but nevertheless, you get used to it.

Internships Opportunities :

The training and placement office offers you a number of internship opportunities and if you are interested in any specific company, you can let the management know and they do contact the company on your behalf if possible.

Placement Experience :

The college trains you for placement through various programs from the third year. the placements are decent with an average package of 2.5 LPA. The students have to put in a lot of self-study to get placed. Hard work pays.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees hike almost every year. if you come from a reservation background and have been admitted through the CAP round you are eligible for govt scholarships. The campus does provide a good placement.

Campus Life :

Life at this campus is similar to any college life . the college does have a number of clubs that you can join according to your interests. The infrastructure is simple and nice. The college does conduct cultural programs and festivals.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilities were better. You get to choose among three hostels. You ought to take your budget into consideration. The infrastructure is nice, the management is actively involved and every query is answered.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The professor is highly knowledgeable they are very supportive if we find any difficulty from any problem then they help a lot with it. Exams are in every month and final semester exams are there If we study hard then exams are not tough. Negative point is that sometimes faculty say anything bad so it gets irritated.

There are so many placements in college, Even if you missed a college placement you can still secure the same job, just their process is a little bit more complicated, but don't worry you can take the same opportunity. While campus placement involves companies reaching out to you.

Placement Experience:

From semester 7th only all students are eligible for the campus. In terms of placement this year 2023, due to the recession very few companies visited our college including KPIT, Capgemini, TCS, and Tech Mahindra. The count taken by these companies was also too low around 25-30 students per company only TCS has 80+ students. If I talk about the overall placement count this year only 150 students means 1/4th of the overall college was only placed for an average package of 4.5LPA System Engineer or GET role and most students are from Computer Science only. So overall placement rate is not good this year. The recession has impacted a lot on placement rates this year. I also got placed in TCS but I expect more other companies should visit our campus as last year many companies visited our college and every student has 2+ offer letters in hand.

Nowadays college is providing placement and internship opportunities for third-year students also. Basically at the beginning of last year, you will face the company's drives. Compared to other colleges placement opportunities are good.

Placement Experience:

In these placements, the college invites several companies to their campuses to recruit students studying in that college. After analyzing the different skills being taught by the college and the CV, the company sets some criteria to qualify in several rounds and finally get a job in that company. Students who fulfill all the criteria and qualify in every round get selected.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for Placements. There are many companies visiting college but TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, cognizant, etc are common. The highest package of this year is about 7.5 lakh and the average is about 3.6 lakh. Around 70-75% of students are placed .my plan after BTech is to pursue MTech in
