Remarks :

Eligibility criterion: At least 60% passing percentage in graduation for appearing in the entrance exam. For the entrance-based (CPGEE), the eligibility criteria of Honors/Major in the qualifying UG Degree does not specify the concerned subject only, admissions shall be based on CPGEE scores. Application form can be found on the official site: cotton university.ac.in, application fee: Rs. 800, Application dates: 25th of Oct 2020 to 10th of November 2020. Cut off of the entrance for economics was around 90 marks (for UR).

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because of my interest and I also did my bachelor's in economics. I mostly prefer economics in a more quantitative nature. This course taught me some of the intermediate and advanced concepts of the usual economics papers. I also had some specialization papers like Econometric Methods and Advanced Quantitative Techniques. The faculty-Student ratio is about 10:54 or 5:27. Manisha Sharma is our Head of the Department. Most of the professors are having Ph.D. from Gauhati University and IIT Guwahati and some are still pursuing. I like the overall teaching method of the faculty. However, I do have to mention Dr. Gataun Mazumdar who is excellent at interacting with the students and always use to give some real-world examples whenever he used to teach us. He is specialized in Macroeconomics and has a Ph.D. degree from Amsterdam. The exams are usually held on time but due to the covid situation, the exams were a bit late. The paper level was quite moderate.

Internships Opportunities :

It isn't much available for the internship. However, professors do give some opportunities to work in college or other related work. At times there are some internships from financial institutions like banks etc. I haven't done an internship in college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is quite good. It's not that high. Most PG programs have a similar fee structure of about Rs. 5000 to Rs. 6000 except for some as those are having some practical classes or field works with fees of about Rs. 8000 to Rs. 9500. The above mentions figures relate to admission fees. There can be slight changes in the yearly payable fees of the courses. There is generally isn't much of a fee hike in the courses. I need to mention the Financial Assistant that I received during admission time. Because of the Covid situation, eligible students were exempted from paying the admission fees of the first year in Government and Semi-govt colleges and that was a bit of relief for everyone.

Campus Life :

The campus life is quite good. We have various fests being held like the Annual General Freshmen Social, ABEGE, etc. The library has quite a good amount of books ad journals. The classroom is now being renovated. The classrooms are quite good in terms of conditions. Sports and Extra Curricular activities on campus are being held regularly. There are some clubs like the clubs for imparting business and economics knowledge.
