Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), a State Private University, is located in Guwahati, Assam. The University was founded on March 29, 2008, by the Salesians of Don Bosco and holds the 2(f) and 12(B) Status approvals from the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India. It is approved by AICTE and also accredited by NAAC with an A grade.

ADBU offers Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in science and technology, computer studies, commerce, management, humanities, and social sciences. Assam Don Bosco University Ph.D. Admission

ADBU offers a doctoral program in several fields. Candidates seeking admission to the doctoral program will be admitted on the following basis:

The candidate must have secured 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a scale of 10 in a Master’s degree.
Selection will be based on the score of the entrance exam and personal interview.

To secure a seat in MBA and MCA programs, the student must be a graduate of a recognized University.
The Student must have experience of four years in the IT industry to apply for the MCA program.

Assam Don Bosco University Scholarships

Assam Don Bosco University offers the following Scholarship Schemes to encourage meritorious students to avail of the excellent academic ambiance of the University as well as to ensure equitable access to higher education for economically weaker sections of society and persons with disability. The University has made an amount of Rs 4,67 Crores available in the form of a Merit Scholarship based on the student's performance in the qualifying exam at the time of admission. If you wanna study sincerely come to ADBU

Admission:

In order to get admission you must either give JEE(MAINS)or DBCET. The Dbcet test is a bit more complicated than the Cee exams but they will accept till 60 percent in it. Other than that if you just want to study, do take admission but if you want to enjoy college life then don't.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say it is a mixed bag. The faculty are extremely knowledgeable and are always there to help you with whatever you need them. But there are few professors who are literally headaches. Plus the Don Bosco Society also donates a huge amount of money for research purposes to the students. Last year if I recall correctly one of our seniors got around 25 lakhs sanctioned for research.

Why should you choose Assam Don Bosco University?

There were no eligibility criteria. I found the application form on the official website of Assam Don Bosco University where I had to select the course I wanted to apply for and after filling up the form I was charged rupees 1000. There are three ADBU campuses. And according to the availability of the courses on each campus, they conduct personal interviews. The interview was short and simple and the questions they asked were basically about the particular courses we are applying for. There are scholarships as well for students who belong to other backward classes and have no source of income at home. I don't think there should be any improvement regarding the admission process as I didn't face any problems during the interview and the admission.

I have always been interested in the field of writing. And choosing the line between mass media and journalism was a way for me to polish my writing skills by exploring various aspects of media and communication. It was interesting as I had creative writing as one of my main subjects and I was also taught writing news for print media. And from my personal experience Choosing ADBU was the best decision of my life even tho the fee was really hight but I got to learn a lot from the faculty members. They were very frank and the method of teaching was also unique. We had 2 unit tests each semester and the papers were also easy and interesting.

Importance of Internship in College Life

For my Master's program, the eligibility criteria were 60% for getting into the postgraduation course and I had to apply through the universities website and fill up all the information. After completing all the information I had to go through a personal interview with the psychology department HOD. Once the personal interview was over I was informed after a week that I have achieved admission to the university. Reservation is available for minorities and scholarships are also provided based on financial requirements and merit.

I chose the course MSc Counselling Psychology as I have always been interested in the field of psychology specifically dealing with counseling individuals and providing intervention. The university psychology department includes 5 faculty members and each class has around 25 to 30 students. The university faculty have completed postgraduation and most teachers have completed their Ph.D. program. The university exams and assignments were timely held. The examinations were mildly difficult.
