Patna University provides Bachelor’s in Arts stream across various disciplines. The course is offered as a full-time regular course for students interested in gaining knowledge of the current and past world. Candidates interested in the BA program of Patna University should fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteriAns.

• Candidates should have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board or institute.
• Candidates with IA/I.Sc/I.Com are also eligible to apply.
• Applicants shall have an aggregate of 45% in the last qualifying exam.
• For BA in Functional English, candidates must have studied English at intermediate or 10+2 level.
• Candidates must also appear for and qualify the PUCET entrance exam.

Patna University BA Admission Guidelines

Patna University provides admissions to BA programs on the basis of university level entrance conducted, called Patna University Common Entrance Test. Candidate’s performance in the last qualifying examinations is also evaluated. 

• PUCET entrance comprises mainly general knowledge, reasoning and aptitude sections.
• There are a total of 100 questions related to all major subjects of Humanities and Social Science.
• The university releases merit lists and eligible candidates will then have to appear for counselling rounds on the prescribed date and venue.

Patna University BA Course Details

Patna University provides BA program in below mentioned specializations:

Course Structure: BA program is provided for a minimum duration of 3 years which is further divided into 6 semesters. Each academic year comprises two semesters and is a credit based course. Each course of CBCS contains Course Core (CC), Generic Elective Course (GE), Discipline-Specific Elective Course (DSE), Skill/ Ability Enhancement Course (SEC), and Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC). Skill enhancement courses (SEC) have to be chosen in semester III and Semester IV.

Evaluation: Evaluation of students is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in both internal assessments and end semester examinations conducted in each semester. Many quizzes, assignments, viva-voce, practical examinations also contribute majorly in the evaluation process. The final CGPA will be decided on the performance of the students in semester courses/ papers. The GE, AECC and SEC courses/ papers will be qualifying papers and students have to score 45% marks on these papers.

Attendance: Students are required to maintain a minimum attendance of 75% in each semester in order to be eligible for promotion to next semesters. Students are required to attend all the theoretical and practical classes and maintain their attendance in both separately. Students without minimum required attendance will not be allowed to appear for end semester examinations.
