Placement Experience:

Campus placements are best. You will be placed and the placement committee will not close the placement until and unless every single student is placed. You get different sectors to choose like consulting, finance, sales and marketing, operations, product Management etc

Remarks:

The entrance exam is CAT which is a very high-level aptitude and reasoning exam. You need to prepare well and give many mock tests to Ace it. All the application details will be released through the CAT website.

Placement Experience:

The Summer Internship Process is carried out in the second term. Students intern in the summer between the first and second year of their course. Close to 50% of students receive pre-placement offers after their internships. The final placement process usually takes place in Term 6.

Remarks:

The Common Admission Test (CAT) can be taken by aspirants to get into the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. The application form can be found on their website (www.iimcat.ac.in). The exam consists of three sections - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. Basis the results of the exam, respective IIMs roll out shortlists - these may vary on the candidate's profile (gender, category, work experience, past academic performance, etc.). This email will contain the link for the form to be filled out separately for IIM Bangalore. The process involved submitting all your details along with a Statement Of Purpose. This is usually followed by a Written Ability Test and a Personal Interview.

Placement Experience:

Internship opportunities are available after 3rd term for which interviews are done during term 2. Finals and lateral placement happen around 6th term which is the last term. 100 percent of the students get placed in top companies.

Remarks:

You need to have at least 60 percent in 10th and 12th for the unreserved category and 45 percent for the reserved category. You need to write the CAT exam and get shortlisted based on percentile then write WAT and spread for an interview.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is excellent. Highly educated faculty and classes are run in a highly professional manner. Teaching is case-based as well as theory-based. Term exams are there after every 5 weeks. If you study regularly, passing them isn't difficult

Remarks:

Any graduate can apply for it. The first step is the CAT process. After getting a preliminary call from IIM Bangalore, submit an application form including SOP. After that, there is WAT and GD/PI round. On clearing them you will be offered admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a part of the PGP course at IIMB, it doesn't have any specialization and gives you an opportunity to explore your interest. The coursework is well structured with live projects in all the subjects. It gives an opportunity to network with an ambitious peer groups.

Remarks:

The admission process consisted of CAT, WAT, and PI. As a part of the admission process, we also had to submit an SOP and ask two references to submit a recommendation form. We don't need a LOR but we have to ask our recommendation to submit a questionnaire that has both objectives as well as open-ended questions.

Placement Experience:

Summers happen in the second trimester (October/November), and Laterals and Finals happen in 6th trimester (January/February). The average package is around 3500000. 100% placement unless someone opts out to start his own venture etc. Companies offer a diverse set of profiles ranging from consulting, finance, analytics, marketing, operations etc

Remarks:

Eligible for all graduates Application forms available each year on the CAT website in July, and application fees are around 2000. If you clear the cutoff decided each year by the conducting IIM, you get shortlisted based on your profile (CAT score, work experience, academic scores, various quotas) After shortlisting, WAT and PI rounds are conducted by IIMs. Some may also ask for an SOP

Ques. How good is the IIM Bangalore Business Analytics Program?

● Top Answer By Lagan Aarya on 30 Dec 22

The Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics (PGPBA) at IIM Bangalore is a subset of the PGP program and is fully compatible with it. There is no such thing as a PGPBA section, and all sections are made up of a mix of PGP and PGPBA students. PGP and PGPBA courses are offered in Term 1 and Term 2. From Term 3 onwards, PGPBA has a well-designed analytics curriculum. In comparison to the PGP, the curriculum is more intensive and Math-heavy. PGP students can take the mandatory subjects for PGPBA students as electives. Summer, lateral, and final placements are common for PGP and PGPBA students, with ample opportunities for PGPBA students. In the summer, a large portion of the batch received consulting offers. PGPBA students, like PGP students, are eligible for term exchange. The PGPBA program is similar to an MBA with a specialization in Business Analytics, and there are no significant differences between the PGP and PGPBA programs. It was created with the growing importance of business analytics in mind, as well as the growing demand for talent to analyze and demystify big data....Read more

Ques. Are the IIMs at Ahmedabad Bangalore and Calcutta equally good, especially regarding placements?

● Top Answer By Radha Sharan on 01 Dec 22

All three are fantastic brands, but that's it. After the first two terms, there isn't much to learn at any of these colleges. If you come from a CA/Commerce background, you won't need to learn much about these two terms. Case study-based instruction is overrated and out of date. Because the cultures on the campuses differ slightly, it is best to consider where you will fit in the best. While the set of recruiters is very similar, your ability to get shortlisted is heavily dependent on your relative profile, i.e., your performance in comparison to other students in your batch. It is more important to consider how good your profile is in comparison to the recruiters who come to the college. IIMB has a much higher average work experience, and IIMC will have more people with extremely high CAT scores but a slightly lower academic performance history. For example, if you don't have stellar academics and aren't from one of the top undergraduate institutions, IIMC is a better option for placement. If you want to work in finance but don't have much experience, IIMA is probably not the best option for you. A and B have much more professional placement cells, but C has made changes in recent years to move in this direction as well. However, having a professional placement cell does not guarantee a completely fair process, because, in many companies, PPO holders play a significant role in Summer placement shortlists. However, when compared to other colleges, the situation in these three is far superior. IIM A is a slightly better brand than IIM B and IIM C, but the difference is not significant. You should talk to people at all of these colleges about placement. While much placement-related data is kept confidential, students can still give you an idea of your chances in the field of your choice. Rather than following the age-old ABC pattern, make an informed decision....Read more

Ques. How is it like being at FMS Delhi? Would you trade your life with someone studying in top IIMs A B or C?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Yadav on 10 Jan 23

In comparison to the IIMs, FMS retains the advantages of small batch size and a fee structure that is relatively low. The small batch size simplifies placements significantly. With the exception of a few foreign consultancies, most of the top companies that visit the IIMs also visit FMS. Despite all of the university's bureaucracy, etc., there is a well-established alumni network that still ensures that things work out for the current batches. Because of the small batch size, people are extremely competitive. This was in stark contrast to what you hear about the IIMs. Even though they have competition but they maintain some semblance of sanity due to the large batch. FMS can be difficult to manage at times, both in obvious behaviours and subtle actions by people you study with. The culture at FMS is influenced by the culture of Delhi. In comparison, IIMs are unquestionably more cosmopolitan. Unless you have prior exposure, adjusting to a new environment can be difficult for people from very different cultures, such as the South or East. Otherwise, you'll have to learn to adjust the hard way. But it's still worth the effort. The people you meet in both locations are of the highest calibre. It is up to you to make the best of the situation. Even if given the chance, there's no way one would like to trade places with the IIMs....Read more

Ques. Is IIT Bombay a better choice for an MBA than IIM Bangalore or IIM Ahmedabad, considering the overall experience and ROI they have to offer?

● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 30 Dec 22

For an MBA, you should not even compare IIT Bombay and IIM Ahmedabad or Bangalore or Calcutta. The IIT Bombay is a prestigious engineering school. For management, IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta are the same. Both are in a completely different league.  Considering only ROI makes no sense from the perspective of an MBA because an MBA is more than just an investment in yourself. These IIMs have much better professors, a world-class curriculum, peer groups, alumni, placements, student exchange opportunities, and so on. So, if you get through them, please go for the IIMs. Financing your education will be simple because once you graduate from one of these IIMs, banks will be eager to extend loans, sometimes even without a guarantee. And if you do well, you will be able to find a good job and pay off your loan in a few years....Read more
