Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara University accepts applications from all interested and eligible candidates for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and PhD research courses once for every academic session. The tentative date for applications begin around April 2021 up until May 2021. The students are also expected to give an entrance exam for this course. JSS University PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria for admission into the various specializations of PhD course as mentioned below:

Completion of Master’s Degree or equivalent by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent.

Completion of M.Phil. with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale in the same Institution in an integrated program.
5% relaxation is given to SC / ST candidates.

JSS University PhD Admission Guidelines

To secure an admission in this programme at JSS University, interested students need to follow the steps given below:

The admission is conducted online after the results of the entrance exam is announced.
The admissions are done on the basis of the score on the entrance exam.
The selected candidates will then be called for an interview round with a group of panellists.
A final merit list will be announced based on the performance of the aspirants on the interview.

JSS University PhD Course Details

JSS University offers the Ph.D. programme based on the guidelines of UGC.

JSS conducts examinations common to all the provisionally registered candidates for the course twice a year. The examination consists of:

Paper-I (100 marks- 4 credits)

Paper -II (100 marks – 4 credits)

Viva Voce (100 marks – 4 credits)

Each guide prepares a detailed syllabus in consultation with the Doctoral Advisory Committee (DAC) for every candidate registered based on the specialization and area of research as per the framework prescribed.

The placement cell at JSS University try their best to provide their students with the best placement offers possible. Q: What are the colleges that come under JSS University?

A: JSS University mainly offers medical and health-related studies programmes under its constituted colleges including JSS Medical College, Faculty of Life Sciences, JSS Dental College and JSS College of Pharmacy etc.

Q: Is giving an entrance exam compulsory?

A: Yes, it is. The only candidates who are exempted from this entrance exam are those who have cleared the UGC NET exam. Even then, they will be required to pass the interview round. The entrance exam for the PhD program is conducted once in a year.

Q: When will the students complete the PhD after enrolling?

A: The candidate will have to secure at least 50% of the marks in each Paper I, Paper II and Viva Voce and an aggregate of minimum 60%, to be declared successful in the Coursework / Methodology Examination. The candidates can take 3 to 6 years to complete this programme.

Q: What are the documents required for admission?

A: Following is the list of documents required for this programme:

Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/10thCertificates/Birth certificate).
Marks card of qualified Degree and Master Degree of all years.
Degree and Master Degree Certificates.
Conduct certificate.
Migration Certificate.
Proof of UGC/MCI/DCI – recognition of the college/University from where the student has completed the Master Degree.
Attested Copy of the Photo identity issued by Central / State Government.

Q: Is there an application fee?

A: Yes, there is an application fee of 1000/- charged. This is to be paid via a DD payable to “JSS University Fee Account”, Mysore, at Mysore during the time of admission.
