Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University offers three undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes. It also offers Ph.D., PG Diploma and diploma courses. KVASU has three faculties, viz. Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Dairy Science and Faculty of Poultry Science. KVASU has four constituent colleges:

Admission to MS/M.Sc. and Diploma programmes will be required to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university. Selection will be based on the performance in qualifying examination & the entrance test and interview.

KVASU M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

KVASU offers two years full-time M.S. Programme in Wildlife Studies with an intake capacity of 10 students. The admission to M.S. programme is through an entrance examination and interview conducted by the University. It offered by one of the constituent colleges of University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad.

Eligibility Criteria:

You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biosciences (Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Forestry etc. If you are waiting for the result, you can also apply for MS programme. You should produce an attested copy of the final year mark list on or before June 30.

KVASU M.Sc Selection Procedure

Selection shall be done on the basis of the marks obtained in qualifying exam and score in the entrance exam. Candidates will be considered for admission only if they secure a minimum of 40% marks in the entrance examination. The minimum is 30% for SC/ST candidates.

About Entrance Test and Interview

There will be a separate entrance examination and interview. Entrance examination will be of one hour duration consisting of multiple choice questions. The originals of all certificates and documents should be produced at the time of the interview and at the time of admission.

How to Apply?

You should submit applications through online only for admission to this programme. There are three following steps to apply for M.S/M.Sc. and Diploma programmes.

Step 1: Fill Application Form

You should fill the online application form available on the official website of KVASU uploading his/her passport size color photograph (150WX200H pixels) and signature (250WX90H pixels). The size of photograph and signature shall not exceed 30 kb.

Step 2: Make Payment

After filling application form, you should make the remittance of the application fee in any methods as given below.

Making payment at Federal bank branches through challan:-

When the application is submitted, a challan in triplicate (with student copy, bank copy and University copy) will be automatically generated. Take the printout of the challan and remit Rs.520/-(270/- for SC/ST candidates) as the application fee and bank processing charges using the challan at the nearest Federal Bank counter.

Through credit card/debit card/Internet banking:-

Remit the fee at the time of submission of the application form through online payment mode using credit card/debit card/Internet banking. You should remit Rs.520/-/-(270/- for SC/ST candidates) as the application fee and bank processing charges.

Step 3: Submit Application Form

After remitting application fee, you should take the print out of the online application submitted and send the same after affixing signature of the applicant in the space provided and send the same with the following enclosures to

Documents to be enclosed with the application

  • University copy of the challan, if the payment of the application fee is made by the challan
  • Attested copy of SSLC/Class X certificate
  • Attested copy of the final mark list of qualifying examination

Community/Caste certificate and income certificate, if you claim any reservation

Reservation Of Seats

Reservation of seats shall be governed by the rules of the Kerala State Government. 25% of the seats shall be reserved for the eligible candidates sponsored by the ICAR based on All India Entrance Examination to be conducted by them.

Fee exemption and communal reservation of seats are restricted to the candidates belonging to SC/ST and other eligible communities of Kerala origin as per the rules in force.
