Eligibility Criteria

BA, B. Com (Hons.) and BSW:

• For BA, B. Com (Hons.) and BSW programme, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream
• The candidate must have scored at least 45% marks (aggregate) and 5% relaxation is given to reserved categories

B.Sc.

• For B. Sc. programme in Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology, and Microbiology specialization, the candidate must have passed 10+2 with Biology as major subject
• For B. SC, in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in Science Stream with Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Biotechnology
• In case of all the specializations, candidate must have scored at least 45% (aggregate) and 5% relaxation is given to reserved categories

Selection Criteria

The selection in these courses is on the basis of merit obtained in the last qualifying exam as well as personal Interview.

MA:

• For MA in Geography, candidate must have done graduation in Geography or similar subjects
• For MA in Economics, candidates must have done BA / B. Com or B. Sc. with Economics
• For MA in Sociology, Agricultural Extension and Management and Rural Development, candidate must have done graduation in any stream
• For MA in Political Science, candidate must have done Graduation in Political Science
• For MA in English, candidate must have done Graduation in English
• For MA in Education, a candidate must have done graduation in Education.
• For MA in Khasi, candidate must have done Graduation in Khasi
• In every specialization, candidate must have scored minimum 45% marks (aggregate) and 5% relaxation is given to Reserved Category.

M.Sc.:

• For M. Sc. in Chemistry, candidate must have done Graduation with Chemistry along with any given below 2 subsidiary subjects i.e. Biotechnology, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Mathematics
• For M.Sc. in Environmental Science, candidate must have done Graduation in Botany, Environmental Sciences, Zoology, Anthropology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Geography, and Geology
• For M.Sc. in Geography, candidate must have done Graduation in Geography or similar subjects
• For M.Sc. in Physics, candidate must have done Graduation in Physics
