Course Description

Candidates are advised to carry the following documents at the time of admission:

For UG and PG Courses:

  • 10th marks sheet and certificate from a recognized board
  • 10+2 or equivalent marks sheet and certificate from a recognized university or board.
  • Bachelor’s Degree marks sheet and certificate of a recognized university.
  • Residential certificate as applicable.
  • Special quota certificates, if applicable.
  • Two self-addressed unstamped envelopes of the 24cmX11cm size.

   B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fishery Science) is a four years degree programme spreading over 8 semesters. The syllabus was recommended by Vth Deans Committee is being followed by the college since 2016. The B.F.Sc. degree course comprises of both theory and practical with a total credit hour of 180 (84+96) in various aspects of Fishery science including Aquaculture, 29 credit hours (17 +12), Fishery Resource Management, 23 credit hours (14+9), Aquatic Environment Management, 20 credit hours (12+8), Aquatic Animal Health Management, 18 credit hours (11+7), Fish Processing Technology, 21 credit hours (13+8), Fishery Engineering, 14 credit hours (8+6) and Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics, 15 credit hours (9+6).

Eligibility Criteria

A Candidate for admission to the Four-year degree course in Fisheries must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2) with Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics and Chemistry as Compulsory subjects, or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent there to.

Candidate should have passed 10+2 examinations from this university or any other recognized university.

Admission Guidelines

  1. There will be a COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION for selection of the candidates for admission into B.F.Sc.
  2. The candidates for admission will be selected only on the basis of Merit (Weighted Score) which is based on his/her performance of academic career, Entrance Examination and Extracurricular activities.

 If two or more candidates secure the same computed score, the tie shall be resolved and their merit positions will be decided on the basis of higher marks in the Entrance Examination or +2 Science or HSC/equivalent in that order

  3. Click the applicable link for the course you want to apply for.
  4. The link leads you to the online payment of the application fee of 1000/- through the SBI Collect facility.
  5. After successfully making the payment, fill up the form and submit it.
