Banasthali Vidyapith offers a total of 29 doctoral courses under its Ph.D. program. The Ph.D. program is for a minimum of three years including the course work and a maximum of six years. The Ph.D. course work shall be a minimum of eight credits.

  • The Ph.D. program is specialized in 29 subjects such as Computer Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Electronics, Mathematical Science, Physics, Home Science, Education, Sociology, Management, and many more.
  • The minimum criteria or requirement to apply for a Ph.D. program is M. Phil. or Master’s Degree in a subject with 55% marks in aggregate.
  • For admission to the Ph.D. program at Banasthali Vidyapith, every candidate needs to appear in the Research Entrance Test (RET) except for the subject of Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Music, Dance, and Design. Qualifying RET is a compulsion and mandatory requirement for enrollment and the admission is considered provisional till that stage.

Banasthali Vidyapith Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates applying for admission to the Ph.D. degree should have a Master’s Degree in the subject or related area with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent CGPA.
  • There is a relaxation of 5% for the candidates from SC/ST/Differently-Abled Category (50% marks in aggregate).
  • The candidates who have cleared or qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC Commission are also eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program. 
  • Every candidate needs to appear in the Research Entrance Test (RET) except for the subjects of Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Music, Dance, and Design. It is a must requirement for enrollment and the admission would be considered as provisional until that.

NOTE- A candidate who has qualified NET, SLET, GATE, GPAT, or M.Phil. (admitted to the M.Phil program through the entrance) are exempted from RET.

  • The Candidate who has a work experience of a minimum of 5 years in Teaching/ Industrial/ Research shall be given a relaxation of 5% in the marks by the Vice-Chancellor/ Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

Banasthali Vidyapith Ph.D. Admission Guidelines

The admissions to the Ph.D. program in Banasthali Vidyapith are based on a Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by the university. However, the candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/ SLET/ GATE/ GPAT/ M.Phil. are exempted from the entrance exam.

  • The registrations for Ph.D. programs at Banasthali Vidyapith are open to women only. 
  • The mode of application is both online and offline.

  • Fill the application form at the given link for Ph.D. Admissions. 
  • Candidates need to fill the application form available on the website carefully by going through all the instructions and after checking the eligibility criteria.
  • Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
  • Pay the application fee online via Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.

Offline

  • Students can get an offline application form by sending a DD of Rs.800 in favor of “Banasthali Vidyapith” payable at Banasthali /Jaipur.
  • Fill the form carefully and submit the form along with xerox copies of all the required documents at the Admission Office.

The candidate would be considered as enrolled for the Ph.D. program only after it is verified that he/she meets the eligibility criteria, has qualified RET, and has submitted the Migration certificate of the University from which she has completed her Master’s degree or any equivalent degree. 

The registration of a candidate shall be processed only after her synopsis has been duly approved and the Vice-Chancellor has passed the order for her registration.

The fees should be paid as prescribed from time to time. If someone fails to pay the dues within six months of the due date, the admission is liable to be cancelled.

  • The Ph.D. program is for a minimum duration of three years including the course work and a maximum of six years. The candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/ Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days.
  • The Ph.D. course work shall be a minimum of eight credits.
  • The candidates will ordinarily submit the thesis within six months of the recommendations by the RAC.
  • The candidate will not be permitted to change the research topic, but the Vice-Chancellor may change the research topic on the recommendation of the RAC in a few rare cases. 
  • No candidate will be allowed to take up any other examination except in cases in the interest of research.
