Sangam University PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program offered at Sangam University shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Must have completed Post Graduation in the concerned stream or field from a recognized university.
• Must have scored at least 55% aggregate marks in their Post-graduation degree examination.
• There is a relaxation of 5% marks for reserved categories.
• Shall qualify in the entrance exams such as SUAT/GATE/GPAT /SLAT/ UGC-NET.

Sangam University PhD Admission Guidelines

Admission to the Ph.D. program, offered at Sangam University is done on the basis of an entrance exam i.e. Sangam University Admission Test (SUAT) conducted by the varsity.

• The first selection of the candidates will be based on the SUAT scores.
• Candidates who have qualified for SUAT/GATE/GPAT /SLAT/ UGC-NET will be exempted from the SUAT exam.
• Selected candidates will be called for the personal interview and viva-voce.
• Final merit list will be created on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the entrance exam, PI, and viva-voce.

• Make the payment of the application form through internet banking, debit card, credit card as per your choice.
• Download the form and take a printout of the same for future reference. 

Offline Mode 

• Take the printout of the application form and fill in all the details.
• Submit the duly filled application form through post or in-person to the Admission Cell of Sangam University
• The following documents are required to be attached with the application form:
• Anti-ragging affidavit and eligibility form

Course Duration

The minimum duration of the full-time Ph.D. program offered at Sangam University is 3 years which is divided into 6 semesters. The minimum duration for the part-time Ph.D. program is 4 years. The duration can be extended according to the regulations of the varsity.

Prescribed Coursework

The Ph.D. program at Sangam University will constitute of the following courses:

• Course Work
• Electives
• Synopsis Submission
• Thesis Submission

Coursework

• Each student shall undertake course work for a minimum period of one semester.
• The course work includes two papers; one shall be on research methodology.
• The other one shall be an intensive review of available literature/research techniques relating to the proposed research area of the Ph.D. Scholar.

Synopsis Submission

• After allocation of supervisor, all Ph.D. candidates shall apply for registration in the prescribed application form
• In addition to the Application Form, an outline of the proposed research work along with the theme and methodology, objectives and importance/relevance of the proposed work, bibliography and other details shall be submitted.
• The synopsis would be submitted when it is approved by the supervisor

Research/ Thesis Submission

• After successful submission of Synopsis and the outline of the proposed research work, the Dean (Research) shall notify the candidate concerned regarding approval of outline of work.
• Candidates have to complete their research work within the stipulated time in order to complete the Ph.D. program.
