Ques. For CS, which is better: Thadomal College or Vivekananda College in Chembur?

● Top Answer By Girish Singh on 01 Nov 21

Ans. A subject like CS is good enough for your career to shine, be it from any college. It completely depends on the student and what suits his/her requirements. The faculty of both the colleges are equally good. They are highly experienced and very cooperative. If you prefer a more lively college life, consisting of fun and fests then opt for Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC) If the campus environment, infrastructure, and food joints matter more to you then go for Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT) Chembur. VESIT offers more seats for CS than TSEC College. The placements for CS in both colleges are similar.  This mainly depends on the student’s overall academic performance, based on this appropriate job offers and salary packages are given. Categories CS at TSEC CS at VESIT Course Fee 7.58 lakh 4.52 lakh Placement Percentage  86.96% 70-80% Highest CTC 19.65 LPA 20 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA 4.5-5 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Oracle, etc. JP Morgan, Deloitte, Bosch, HCL, etc. It is suggested that you opt for Thadomal Shahani for CS, and if you do not get a chance there then go for CS at Vivekananda.Read more

Ques. What should I choose, a dual degree MSc program in BITS Hyderabad or some branch in NIT Raipur, or CSE in NIT Puducherry?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. Choose BITS Hyderabad over NIT Raipur or NIT Puducherry. Here are some of the reasons for choosing this institute: They offer a beautiful campus with an enthusiastic student crowd. BITS Hyderabad has updated modern machinery and lab facilities. The placements definitely differ between the BITS and NITs. NIT Raipur is very old-fashioned in its approach towards studying and learning. Their faculties teaching method is old and prefers their students mugging up notes rather than learning and understanding something. BITS, unlike NIT Raipur, their teaching method is industry-oriented. You might think that going for a dual degree is better as IT companies only prefer CSE graduates. But nowadays this notion has changed as with big data and analytics creating a boom, more and more such companies visiting campuses and hiring people from all branches. Therefore it is suggested that you go for BITS Hyderabad, where you will grow and learn in a much more competitive environment. Your vision will be broadened.Read more

Campus Life :

Infrastructure was very good. We had basketball court and very big play grounds so it was a joyable leisure to play after classes. Lab were mostly good and spacious. Gender ratio was also good it was mostly 60:40 boys: girls ratio. No ragging allowed. Most seniors were helpful and provided us notes if they had. Technical events were also good with robotics and all. I also won third prize once.

Faculty :

Lecturers were mostly post graduates. Few were PhD holders and had good knowledge but mostly were not experienced And just teached. Yes if we had doubts they gave clarity. We had proper labs so we could practice and ask them doubts. Mostly faculty didn't have industry experience to guide us for placement oriented study.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I didn't opted for scholarships or education loan but my friends did all banks gave education loans like any other student. There was no scholarships given by college but yes from govt for sc/st and obc students one time scholarship of rs 30000 if their household income is below 1 lakh / annum

College Events :

Techfest and cultural fest happen along with the sports day.Students are the one who adt like management's in these events and bring in the sponsers and collect the funds from anywhere possible.Guys are also allowed in some events like techvyom and cultural fests but they are not treated well when the show is over The outaide participation is average but it is kind of mandatory for the college students to take part and make the college fest a great success.

Campus Life :

It's an all girls college so definitely there is no talk about the gender ratio.Well we do havea robotics club i think because we have robowars in techfest's. We do have sports and basketball and badminton are the most popular ones while the kabbadi team is the only one who is out there winning medals for our college.

Faculty :

Well,no college student will look up to there faculty and say,oh. A perfect faculty. Everybody is septic about the fact that they kinda rule in college and we have to abide by their rules and nobody likes that but every faculty is at last there when we need something other than holidays and important work ofcourse.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose Btech because I am interested in computers. The faculty-student relation is very good. Teachers are a very frank and friendly nature except for some teachers. They all are highly educated!. They are the best in their field. Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. and the rest are masters degree holders. The teaching method of all faculty members is highly understandable. They teach according to the student's State of mind. Exams are held twice in a semester of 6 months one is a minor of 20 marks and the other is major ie final which is 60 marks. The rest of the 40 marks are based on assessment and practicals. Exam is quiteifficult to pass.. Bit not very much difficult. If you study little hard you can pass it easily..

Campus Life :

There is an orientation program in august Tech fest ie ANANT held in October or November. There are 2 libraries which consist of 1000s of books you need for your subject as well for entrance exams. And there are nobels too. The classroom is accommodated with all the needed items Whiteboard benches etc. . There is an annual sports meet held every year. And sports tournaments of various games every year. There are a well-maintained basketball court and cricket playground.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure is different for all. It's less for scholarship holders and quota holders. I am selected for an internship for 6 months with a stipend of 8000 per month but they bound me for 1 and a half years as I have to do my masters so I refused it.

Campus Life :

The campus life in this college is not that much diverse because the campus is shifted to Lucknow this year only and it is in the developing phase.the gender ratio shoes a very much gap.Workshops are regular in this college, some are taken by seniors and some by faculties and guest lecturers.cultural society also do a great work in this college despite having limited resources. The politics in this college is very little the the faculty does not support any kind of politics in the college. The economic status of the college is good and we are developing in every aspect.

Placement Experience :

The placement of IIIT lucknow is pretty good.last year the average package was 18.42 LPA.the highest package was 48 LPA. 100% students were placed.the companies which were there to recruit students wre mostly consultancy companies.othere companies were also there like core it,analytics, travel network etc.yes, the institute does take necessary steps to help students prepare for placements season by providing them extra classes, organising dummy interview session etc.

College Events :

Our college is in developing phase, so,there are not much events celebrated in the college.but untill now there are some events which are organised in our college. Some days back the annual techfest of iiit lucknow 'EQUINOX' was held. Before that we celebrated 26 January in which cultural programs were held and a mini marathon was organised.before that we had 'GET SET FOSS' a github sponsored event.
