Noida International University offers Ph.D. programs in almost 28 disciplines under various schools/departments.

  • The minimum duration of the Ph.D. program is 3 years and the maximum duration is 6 years.
  • A postgraduate degree with 55% marks is the minimum requirement to be eligible for admission.
  • Selection of candidates is done on the basis of the entrance exam followed by personal interaction. 

NIU Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have a master’s degree or any professional degree equivalent to a master’s degree by the regulatory body with a minimum mark of 55% in aggregate or equivalent grade point.

Candidates must have cleared the M.Phil. degree including course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale

NIU Ph.D. Admission Guidelines

Admission to the Ph.D. program shall be based on merit obtained in the entrance test and interview.

Applicants who have qualified UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ UGC- NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE/ M. Phil. are exempted from the written test.

How to Apply?

  • Applicants have to visit the official website and click on the “apply now” tab to proceed.
  • New applicants must register with an email ID and mobile number 
  • Log in with your registered mobile number and email ID and proceed further filling the application form with relevant details.
  • Upload the required documents and submit and proceed for payment. 
  • Applicants have to pay an amount of ?1,100 online or DD. 
  • After successful payment click on “submit” for the final submission of the application form. 
  • Take a print out of the application form for future references.

NIU Ph.D. Entrance Exam Details

The Eligible candidates will be called to appear in an entrance test. After qualifying the test, personal interaction with the expert panel will take place to judge the research aptitude in the candidate and to consider the candidate’s proposed research area.

The Syllabus of the Entrance test consists of:-

NIU Ph.D. Course Details

  • The students of Ph.D. will be required to undertake coursework for a minimum period of 1 semester.
  • The minimum credit assigned to the Ph.D. coursework will be 8 and the maximum credit will be 16.
  • The candidates will be required to complete the coursework prescribed by the department during the initial first semester.

Ques. Can I apply for offline admission to Ph.D. at NIU?

Ans. Yes, applicants can apply for offline admission. Students can download the application form from the official website and submit it offline.

Ques. What is the fee structure of a Ph.D. at NIU?

Ans. The fees required for Ph.D. for sponsored students is INR 65,000 and for non-sponsored students is INR 50,000. An additional INR 1000 is to be paid per semester as an activity fee.

Ques. Is there any relaxation in the maximum duration of Ph.D. for PWD candidates at NIU?

Ans. PWD candidates with more than 40% disability will be allowed a relaxation of 2 years in the maximum duration. Women candidates will also get relaxation.
