IIFT Kolkata is one of the premier institutes in terms of postgraduate courses in trade & business. Kolkata is the first place where it has chosen to set up its institute apart from Delhi. It has gained a lot of reputation for its international business courses. If I go for IIFT Kolkata instead of IIFT Delhi, will it make a difference in quality of education and my placements?

No. Minimal difference exists when it comes to placements, but nothing changes when the quality of education is talked about.IIFT Delhi and Kolkata are sister campuses and not separate branches like IIMs are. You will be taught by common professors, get the same degree upon graduating. Both campuses go through the same academic rigor, led by the common administration. Even the competitions open for IIFT Delhi are inherently open for the Kolkata campus as well. Placements are common, the administration is common, Kolkata has a better infrastructure, they have the same academic rigor in both the campuses, the competitions open for IIFT Delhi is automatically open for Kolkata as well, even if it is written IIFT Delhi in the eligibility criteria of the Corporate competitions. ExcellentvCampus Life and Course structure

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite average as compared to MBA students. From 2nd-semester students become eligible to sit for the placements. Companies like CRISIL, KPMG, EY, NielsenIQ, Accenture, and American express visited our campus for the placements. The highest package offered was Rs.21 lakhs and the average is 10 lakhs. Only 25-30 students were placed out of the batch of 70 students. My plan after getting the degree would be to get a corporate job with the profile of an analyst.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are not provided by the college itself students have to look for them on their own. Some students of my batch have interned with Niti Aayog IOCL and Nestlé. You can ask seniors for guidance or look for referrals on LinkedIn.

IIFT Kolkata Internship Process Details

Placement Experience:

At the end of 1st trimester, the placement cycle starts, so the first 3 months will be very hectic. Meetings with placement committee, classes during the day, seniors teaching in the night. Talking about placement stats IIFT Kolkata's avg package was around 2lakhs for 2 months (8-week internship). and Final placements for IIFT Kolkata were around 25 lakhs per year. the placement report of IIFT Delhi and Kolkata is combined, To give you insight IIFT Kolkata and Delhi both sit in placements together so, placement stats are more or less the same. To give you a number IIFT Kolkata placements are better than IIM Shillong.

Internships Opportunities:

Companies that come for internships placements are the same for Delhi and Kolkata campuses because both campus students sit together, no biases form the company's side. You can see the name of companies from the summer placement report. only 7-8 companies out of 100+ companies don't allow Kolkata students. The internship stats are the same for both campuses. Again to give you a number, IIFT Kolkata's numbers are better than IIM Shillong's.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are very strong at IIFT with the summer placements starting around September for the junior batch and around November for the senior batch. There is a 100% placement for all the candidates.

Internships Opportunities:

There are internship opportunities under multiple domains with sufficient opportunities for all the candidates to grab a good offer. The average stipend is to the north of 200,000 for two months following which we submit a comprehensive report documenting our learnings which is a compulsory course.

Tolaram offers a package with an average value of Rs. 21 lakhs and a maximum value of Rs. 80 lakhs. The available profiles include those in finance, sales and marketing, consulting, global business, information technology, analytics, and trade. Following graduation, I want to work for a reputable consulting company like Mckinsey, Ernst & Young, or Optum.

Internships Opportunities:

With a stipend of Rs 1 lakh, I'm accepting an internship with SKF India in the sales and marketing departments. Additionally, there are other areas to investigate, such as product management, finance, general management, consulting, commerce, and operations. As they receive shortlists from sales and marketing departments and other businesses looking for work ex individuals, the ideal work ex to receive a shortlist is two years. Students have the opportunity to be placed beginning in the fifth trimester, aside from PPO from summer internship. IIFT my dreams come true

Placement Experience:

The chance for placement begins in the fifth trimester, in addition to the preplacement offer. Campus visitors from Microsoft, Dabur, JP Morgan Chase and Company, Goldman Sachs, and DE Shaw. 200 candidates were hired. Microsoft's top domestic package is Rs. 45 lakhs, and the typical is Rs. 21 lakhs. Finance, Sales and Marketing, Consulting, International Business, IT, Analytics, and Trade are among the available profiles. I intend to work for a reputable trade company like Cargill, Olam International, or Cofico after receiving my degree.

Internships Opportunities:

I've been given sales and marketing internships with ABFRL, and I'm going to accept them along with a Rs 1 lakh stipend. You can also investigate other areas like product management, finance, general management, consulting, trade, and operations. The majority of new graduates have summer employment opportunities in sales and marketing. Learning in these areas can aid in establishing a company's business culture.
