Course Curriculum Overview:
I had no intention to become an engineer, hence economics was my choice.
The faculty-student ratio is decent, batches are not huge.
Exams are quite difficult to score, especially in the pre-final year. There have been instances of good students scoring 10%-20% marks in internals.
The frequency of exams was as follows - 3rd sem started in August, exams started at the end of August, the whole of September, the whole of November, and the whole of December. The new semester starts mid-January.
That gives you a picture I believe.
Professors are generally good, and some are great. However I suggest non-Bengalis please refrain from coming here, during my viva a professor started in Bengali, and when I told them that I don't know it that well, they said "Why not, you have to know it", "Why should we not speak in Bangla in our state". It was my Viva at that time but all I wanted to say was, with all due respect professor, the medium of instruction is English, you must speak in that. But, not all professors are like that.
