Prestige and ranking(overall and department). It is an Ivy school and ranked in the top 10 in the US for my program.
Course Curriculum :
It’s rigorous and demanding. The courses are relevant and up to date. We are taught about the state of the art technology relevant to our course and the professors are world-renowned in their fields.
Exams :
SOP, LOR, Research, projects, internships. My GRE was 168 Q and 160 V. 113 in TOEFL.
Placement :
It is great. Depends on the individual as well. In the US the college brand name is not a big fuss like in India. There are numerous research opportunities as well. They can be intra-department as well. Research depends on how well can you find an advisor to fund your research and how you convince the admission committee about your research prowess.
Internship :
No, I didn't get an internship.
Events :
The campus is now open to a great extent. But not as vibrant as it used to be before the pandemic. There are in-person events and activities but in a restricted manner. The campus provides a great experience in terms of sports, scenery, etc.
Fees :
$60000 is the program fee.
Scholarship :
No, I didn't receive any scholarship.
Faculty :
Most of them are big names in their fields. All of my professors are involved in million-dollar projects and their projects are extremely insightful. Some of them are average at teaching.
Hostel :
I live off campus. About a mile from my department. On-campus is always expensive as compared to off-campus housing, irrespective of the university. My apartment is furnished and has all the necessary facilities.
