Diverse Community with good Indian Crowd

MK
6.8 /10

The University of Ottawa is one of the top 10 universities in Canada. There are many good opportunities and also an Indian crowd so you don’t feel lonely in a foreign land.

Course Curriculum :

MEng is a theoretical program with no industrial or real-life exposure. However, with MASc, you might get practical knowledge a lot.

Exams :

Students need a minimum of B+ in their Bachelor and IELTS Academic Exam Scores. I scored 7.5 in IELTS.

Placement :

Placement is difficult, especially with COVID. You need to make connections with people on LinkedIn who can refer you for a job in their company.

Internship :

MEng Chemical doesn’t offer a mandatory co-op. However, the department will help you 100% if you get a chance for co-op.

Events :

The university had many events before COVID-19. Good research labs and full campus Wifi. The library is very systematic and has a great collection for every field.

Fees :

The fees are around $13,000 a semester. For MEng, you need to make a minimum of 3 semesters.

Scholarship :

No, I didn't receive any scholarship.

Faculty :

If you are an MEng student you need to make effort to get in touch with professors. They are approachable and will help as much as they can but if you just attend the class without any interaction with the professors you will not stand out from the crowd.

Hostel :

Renting an apartment is easy and online. You can confirm your apart before coming here and I advise you do that. It cost $1700-$2000 for a 2 BHK (not in downtown). So if you share a bedroom it will be $500 each. They are private rooms available at $ 600-$700 near the university. If you go far you might also get a private room for $500.
