Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences also abbreviated SKIMS, is the largest medical Institute under State Legislature Act in Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir.
The university incorporates various departments which include medicine and allied, surgery and allied and other supportive services.
- Admission to MBBS, MD and MS programmes is based on merit of NEET.
- Admission to various UG and PG level courses is done on the basis of Common Entrance Test and Written tests conducted by the University
- Admission to PG Diploma and DNB is done on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination

Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) offers MBBS degree to aspiring candidates for which the duration is 4.6 years. The degree also includes internship programme of one year.

SKIMS B.Sc Admission 2023
The University offers Bachelor’s degree in Science under eight different specializations subjects. All of these programmes are offered with the duration of four years and the intake capacity of these courses is 50 seats each.

SKIMS PG-Tech/M.Sc Admission 2023
SKIMS provides Postgraduate degree in various fields of Medicine and Medical Technology. The M.Sc degree is offered under 15 different specializations and DMRIT is provided with two specializations.
The duration of M.Sc programme is two years whereas, the duration of DMRIT course is one year.
For admission to M.Sc and DMRIT programmes, the eligible candidates shall have to appear in a Written Test which shall be conducted by SKIMS (Deemed University).
A relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks is allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved category

SKIMS DM and M.Ch Admission 2023
SKIMS also provides super speciality courses like Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch). Both the programmes are offered under five different specializations. All these courses are of a period of three years.
The selection from amongst the eligible candidates in each super-specialty course shall be made entirely on the basis of competitive entrance examination to be held at SKIMS comprising of theory, Practical/Viva voce.

SKIMS Ph.D Admission 2023
SKIMS offers Doctor of Philosophy degree under four different specializations. The duration of Ph.D programmes is 2-5 years.
To qualify for admission to the Ph.D Course, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in written examination and minimum of 50% marks in the combined practical and viva-voce examination and select list shall be framed from amongst the candidates who qualify the entrance examination strictly on the basis of merit.

SKIMS Application Process
- The application form for the above mentioned courses shall be filled online on SKIMS website
- Candidates shall first register to fill up the form
- Once the form is completely filled, candidates can proceed to payment part by J&K Bank Challan and have to print e-Challan for making payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) as application fee at any J&K Bank Branch in Account number 0342010100000183 Branch SKIMS Soura Srinagar, IFSC Code JAKA0SKIMSS and obtain the candidate’s counterfoil of the application fee payment challan duly authenticated by the bank with (i) Branch name and Code No. (ii) transaction No. and (iii) date of deposit filled by the branch official
- The candidates are required to submit payment challan of fee in the office of Registrar (Academic), SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar by registered post only upto last date of submission of online application forms
