The Department of Science and Technology of the Govt. of India has recognized the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum (Also known as SCTIMST TRIVANDRUM) as an institute of national importance by an Act of Parliament when it was provided with the status of a University in 1980. Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Science courses includes only PG courses such as M.Tech, Diploma, PG Diploma, MD, etc. The students, who have secured a minimum of 60% in their UG or PG exams can choose from a variety of masters’ and doctorate courses in the medical field and apply online for admission to the institute. The application mode of the college remains online and the applications are required to apply for admission through the official website of the college.

SCTIMST Admissions

SCTIMST provides admission to students to Post-doctoral, Ph.D./ Master’s, Diplomas, PG Diplomas, and Advanced Certificate courses through an application form that is released on the institute’s official website.

Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences Infrastructure

The Institute has been divided into three wings, namely, a biomedical technology wing, a tertiary referral super specialty hospital, and the Achutha Health Centre for Health Science studies.

The institute is divided into three wings:

  • Hospital Wing: The hospital consists of 253 beds and fills in as a tertiary referral center for cardiovascular, thoracic, and neurologic diseases. With various profoundly qualified personnel including doctors, nurses, and other paramedical staff, different branches of the emergency clinic have refreshed cutting edge facilities for diagnosis and treatment with exceptionally progressed and refined equipment.
  • Biomedical Technology Wing: The Biomedical Technology Wing (BMT Wing) comprises a culturally diverse and pluralistic group focused on medical device improvement, research, and training and is situated at the Satelmond Palace at Poojappura, Trivandrum.   • Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies: The Achutha Menon Center for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS) is perceived as a center of greatness for public health. The center spotlights on exploring in the regions of non-communicable diseases, sexual orientation and health, health strategy, and the executives. AMCHSS conducts a Master of Public Health (MPH), Diploma in general wellbeing (DPH), Ph.D., confirmation, and short courses in public health.
