Course Description

The college offers online mode of application for the candidates for UG and PG courses. Candidates can pay the application fees either through bank deposit challan or through online mode.

How to Apply

  • Visit the official website of the college and click on Academics tab.
  • Click on Admissions tab and then click on the link given for online application at the bottom of the page.
  • Click on the tab for the course you wish to apply for, fill the form online and upload the recent passport size photograph of 3.5 x 4.5 cm in jpg/png/gif format with not more than 50 kb size. Click on submit.
  • For B.Ed., candidates have an option to pay the fees either through challan or through online mode.
  • In case of bank challan, take a print out of unique application number and two-part bank deposit challan and tender the application fees by cash using Bank Deposit Challan at HDFC Bank, Moulali Branch.
  • Candidates can check the application status online three days after remitting application fees in the Bank.
  • Candidate can later print the filled in application form by entering Date of Birth and Application Number.

  • Original and attested copies of HSC Marksheet/Certificate
  • Original and attested copies of Marksheets 
  • Original and attested copies of Age Proof

  • Equivalence Certificate from Calcutta University for candidates outside West Bengal Universities 
  • Two copies of recent stamp-size photograph
  • Original and attested copies of PwD Certificate, if applicable
  • Original and attested copies of Baptism/Confirmation Certificate and Membership Certificate for Christian candidates
  • Proof of Nationality of parent/candidate – Original
  • Income Certificate to validate annual income

Course Details

SSC offers an M.Sc program in Botany and Chemistry disciplines at the postgraduate level. The duration of M.Sc. program is 2 years. The total number of seats comprises 30+3 for Chemistry and 20+2 for Botany. 

General-Merit category candidates, who scored at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination are eligible for admission. Further, SC/ST/Christians category who scored at least 40% marks in the previous qualifying examination are eligible.

Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc Chemistry course must have passed Mathematics and Physics/Computer Science as elective subjects at the undergraduate level.
