Behala College – UG Admission 2023

Behala College offers undergraduate level honors and general programs in the disciplines of Science (B.Sc.) and Humanities (BA). The specializations available under B.Sc. Hons. include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Computer Science, Geography, Environ. Science, Economics, Electronics and Food & Nutrition. Statistics and Botany are offered under the B.Sc. General program. Candidates can choose from Bengali, English, History, Sanskrit, Journalism & Mass Com., Pol. Science, Philosophy and Education. Defence Studies, Physical Education and Environmental Science complete the list of subjects offered under BA General. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Honors candidates are further required to score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 45% marks in the subject in the last qualifying exam. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit.

Prospective candidates may apply online by filling the online application form available at the institute website. The college facilitates payment of application fee through Bank of Baroda challans which are to be submitted along with the application fee after online submission of application form. No other mode of application or fee payment is accepted by the institute.

  • Candidates taking up Honors course in English and Bengali should appear for an institute-level admission test.

Behala College – PG Admission 2023

Behala College offers regular postgraduate programs in the disciplines of Arts and Science. The college offers MA degree programs with specializations in Bengali and History. Subjects offered under the M.Sc. program include Chemistry and Mathematics. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is graduation in the relevant discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.

Only online applications are accepted by Behala College for admission to PG courses. The application form can be accessed by visiting the institute website behalacollege.in. The application fee can be paid via bank challan, copies of which are generated after successful submission of the online application form. It is mandatory for candidates applying under open category to appear for the institute level entrance exam.

  • SC/ST candidates require to secure a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in graduation in order to be eligible for PG programs offered by Behala College.
  • 60% of total seats will be earmarked for C.U. students only. The remaining 40% seats are open to both C.U. and non-C.U. candidates.
  • Candidates can also apply for direct admission to MA programs subject to availability of vacant seats.

Behala College Application Process 2023

Students seeking admission to any of the programs offered by Behala College, Kolkata may apply though online mode for the current academic session. The following steps are to be followed for applying to any course and for admission purpose.

  • Aspiring candidates may apply online by visiting the institute website behalacollege.in. No other mode of application is currently accepted by the institute.
  • Before filling the online application form, candidates are required to read the application guidelines carefully.
  • All requisite particulars in the application form must be filled correctly and in full.
  • Upon completion, the applicant will receive a unique application number which is to be preserved for future correspondence.
  • After submission of the online application form, three copies of challan are generated which are to be submitted to Bank of Baroda, at any Branch, along with the requisite fees.
  • Only those candidate who are successfully registered and have paid the registration fee will be considered in selection process.
  • English & Bengali Honors and all PG candidates must appear for the admission test conducted by the institute.

Documents Checklist:

At the time of physical verification of documents, candidate must bring print copy of application form and photocopies of all relevant documents including original copies of all certificates, marksheets and testimonials.

The following Original Documents are to be produced at the Time of Admission:

  • Original and attested copies of Mark Sheet of the last public examination(H.S or equivalent)
  • Original and attested copies of Admit Card/Certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination as proof of age
  • Original and attested copies of Caste certificate from the competent authority for SC/ST candidates
  • Original and attested copies of Character certificate from the head of the school or college last attended
  • Original Migration Certificate for students migrating from other Boards/University
  • Two copies of recent passport size photograph of the student
  • Registration form duly filled in (available with the admission form)
