MIT School of Film and Television (MIT SFT) is located in Rajbaug, Pune. It is a self-financed University empowered to award the degrees under the University Grants Commission (UGC). The school is a constituent of MIT Art, Design and Technology University and only film school in India that imparts film education along with providing an abundance of learning opportunities. The institution encourages learning by using a vast range of technologies related to media and practices to broaden the perspective about the artistic pursuits of the students.

The curriculum is delivered in a Gurukul pattern with a substantial balance between cultural values of India and awareness of contemporary sensibilities of the young minds. MIT- SFT focuses on practical training with theoretical knowledge. The courses offered by the institution include B.Sc and M.Sc in filmmaking which helps the student to form an analytical mind and holistic approach towards the ground realities of the film industry.

MIT-SFT Pune Courses

Following are the courses offered by the college:

  1. B.Sc in Film Making- The course will include specializations in Direction and Screenplay Writing; Editing; Cinematography and Sound Recording and Design.

  2. M.Sc in Film Making- The course will introduce the students to the special areas of Direction and Screenplay Writing; Cinematography; Editing and Sound Recording and Design.

  3. M.Sc in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics- With this course, the students will be introduced to the basics of cinema, motion graphics, animation, modelling, special effects, simulation FX with the use of multiple software.

MIT-SFT Pune Admissions

Candidates seeking admission to the university are required to appear for MITSFT Entrance test conducted by the institution. Also, they must have passed the relevant examination in order to become eligible for taking admission in the courses.
