Madras Institute of Fashion Technology offers one-year of Diploma in Distance Mode in three disciplines. Two of the diploma courses are affiliated to Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU). The University of Madras offers Diploma in Textile and Fashion Design for which candidate with any degree can apply.

Candidates applying for the Diploma in Fashion Design and Garment Making must have passed SSC or 10th class examination from a recognized board or 18 years of age with PPH of TNOU. Minimum Eligibility for Apparel and Fashion Design course is HSC from a recognized board or PPH certificate from TNOU.

Admission to all the courses is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Candidates can also download the application form by visiting the official website.
Completed Application form must be accompanied by a crossed Demand Draft of INR 500.
Outstation candidates can obtain the prospectus and application form by sending a Crossed Demand Draft.
The Institute will send the forms upon receipt of such request (Accompanied by the Demand Draft) by post.
