NEF Law College, Guwahati Admissions

Some of the important admission details are as follows:

  • The basic eligibility criteria for admissions to five years integrated courses is that candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with 45% aggregate marks for general, 42% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST categories and aged not more than 20 years for general and 22 Years for SC/ST categories. However, admissions are based on the candidate's performance in the NLET entrance exam conducted by the college itself and selection is purely on merit basis.
  • Admissions to LLB courses are based on the merit list of the marks obtained in the graduation. To be eligible for LLB course, candidates must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from an affiliated university securing at least 45% of the total marks for general, 42% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST and aged not more than 30 years for general and 35 years for SC/ST/OBC categories.
  • Admissions to LLM courses shall be decided on the basis of a Written Law Entrance Test conducted by the Guwahati University and selection is purely on merit basis. The basic eligibility criteria is LLB or five year integrated law degree from an affiliated university securing at least 50% for general and 45% for SC/ST.

Candidates are basically required to register themselves in the Admission Portal by providing the necessary details. 

  1. Visit the official college website and navigate to the admission tab.
  2. Click on ‘Form & Prospectus’ under the ‘Download’ section.
  3. Click on the desired course’s form link and download the form in the ‘PDF’ format.
  4. Fill the necessary details asked correctly and submit the application form along with the required documents mentioned below:
    • Birth Certificate or HSLC or equivalent examination certificate.
    • HSLC or HS or equivalent examination Mark sheets and Pass Certificate.
    • Degree Mark sheet and Pass Certificate (if not passed Five Year Integrated Program).
    • LL.B. / Five Year Law Mark sheets and Pass Certificate (for LL.M. only).
    • Transfer Certificate.

  5. This is followed by the payment of your Application Fee online, which is a sum total of INR 500 , as prompted by the portal. You are allowed to pay via Credit/Debit Card, Online Banking, Wallet or UPI.

You will receive the confirmation page of your admission form as soon as the payment is made. You can print it out. Simultaneously, you will receive an SMS, containing the link to your admission portal, to your registered mobile number.
