Ques. Which college is the best for a B.Sc(honours) in mathematics, Ramjas College or Kirori Mal College?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 08 Nov 21

Ans. Both Ramjas College and Kirori Mal College are quite reputed colleges. There are no such parameters to differentiate between these two. Both of these two institutes have good faculty bases. You will also get decent facilities to learn at these colleges.  The only significant factor that can be mentioned is that Kirori Mal has a NAAC A+ accreditation with a better grade as compared to Ramjas. However, it’s not wise to compare these two institutes based on grade. You will have decent opportunities at both. So, you can opt for any of these two based on your convenience. Read more

Ques. Which college is better for maths Hons. Jmc or hansraj?

● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 29 Oct 21

Ans. Here is some information regarding the JMC and Hansraj Maths department based on the experience of my friends from both institutes.  JMC: The Maths department is well-equipped. Along with theory, students need to take up practical projects in their B.Sc. This will help you with your CV. JMC has one of the oldest placement cells in DU. It is also quite active. Every year they organize campus placements and reputed companies like KPMC, Deloitte, ITC, Accenture visit to recruit students.  JMC doesn’t offer hostel accommodation. Hansraj: The student crowd of the institute is quite diverse. You will get to meet people from all over the world. The hostel and mess facilities are great. Campus life is lively and enjoyable. It offers good extracurricular activities. Go through the above-mentioned points and choose the institute that suits your requirements. Read more

Ques. Which course should I choose if I get a chance to study at ISI Kolkata, a B.Math or a B.Stat?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 07 Oct 21

Ans. Both B.Stat and B.Math are different courses being offered at different campuses at ISI Kolkata and ISI Bangalore respectively. There are only a few common subjects in both courses.  The choice ultimately depends on your choice and interest. You can go through the syllabus of both courses and understand the topics. Find whichever interests you, you can choose to be research-oriented like B.math students or go for M.stat or other courses, if you choose so. You can apply for only 1 course because the institute conducts the entrance of both courses at the same time and day. You will be able to appear for only one of them.Read more

Campus Life :

Campus life of jamia is best. Students enjoy much here and it has one the vast and beautiful campus. Annual fests happen every year in the month of February- March. It has a central Library for and each department also has its own library. It has reading halls to study and to do research. Some classrooms are normal while some are air conditioned depending upon your course. But all have smart boards. Jamia has one of the best sports and extra curricular activities . It has separate sports Complex for sports and each year sports is organized by the university. There are many social groups, clubs run by students which are found on Instagram.

Course Curriculum Overview :

If I say honestly, I choose this course because I couldn't get admission in B.tech and so i pursue B.sc. Doing graduation from Jamia or DU is a big thing . So i took admission in jamia. Faculty of jamia is good and very supportive in all. aspects. Faculty includes professors, assistant professors and sometimes some PhD scholars. Exams are done semester wise and each semester have internal tests also.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being a central university, fees of course is quite less. It is approximately 7K for Bsc per year. Moreover, there are different scholarships based on your background like MOMA scholarship for minority students. There are not much campus placement of B.sc students and most of the students gorgeous for higher studies.

Campus Life :

The name of our annual fest is 'PANACHE' and many other small events conduct every month. Vivekuthsav is one of the very good events. In this event, some students give performs like dance, singing, etc and others make their stall and sell something like plants and some make games stalls, food stalls. Students take part in NCC/NSS activities students and faculty voluntarily donate blood in the donation camp to help in the campus yearly once. Students and teachers take part in co and extra curriculum activities like participating in departmental events and many inter-college sports events. Our college has good ground for sports activities like football, cricket, kabbadi etc

Placement Experience :

From 5th semester students are eligible for placements. Many MNC's visits to our college like as byjus, telecom companies, oil cooperatives Pvt Ltd. Etc. A total no. Of 180 students from different branches participated in placement drive out of which 129 students placed. The institution witnessed participation from 32 reputed companies. The IT sector recorded the highest no. Of offers with a total of 44.33%of total offers. The highest salary package was INR 12 LPA whereas the average salary was recorded to be INR 8 LPA. My plan after getting a degree is to become a social servant in govt.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose this college because this college has a good environment for student. And a highly qualified teacher. All teachers have a P.H.D degree and this college does not select those teachers who do not have a higher education degree. And the ratio of student to teacher is very good. Our branch has 60 to 70 students of which there are 5 to 6 teachers with HOD's. Exam of our college was difficult but if students take this seriously then they can easily pass of final terma examination.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because of my Mania for maths. I just love maths. I am not so good at other subjects. That's why I went for this course. The faculty-student ratio is not so bad. It's 1:20 Almost all the faculties are Ph.D. So you don't need to worry about your academics. Just be punctual and attentive and you will pass with flying colors. Exams are held every 6 months. Plus 2 midterms are also held every 2 Months. Passing these exams is not so difficult, just focus on whatever the teacher teaches and be cool

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fee remains constant once you take admission. But A minor increment is done is the exams fee every year. You can get a scholarship on the basis of your percentage in the 12th. I got a 40% scholarship. Usually, you have to pay your fee every 6 months. But you can also pay in 8 installments. There is nothing like an internship here.

Placement Experience :

You can go for placements in the final year of your course but only 20-30% of students get jobs at most. Companies like byju's, chegg Etc visited our college let year. The hugest package offered was of 10 lakhs last year and the average is 3 lakhs per annum I plan on preparing for government job after completion of my course

Course Curriculum Overview :

BSC maths developes you a high reasoning power. Curriculum is generally covered by teachers. It is at par with other universities. However, there is a need of more qualified teachers, so that the burden may be shared among them. Usually one/ two teachers are available for each subject. Looking the length of stream of students, teacher is to students ratio is not as good as should be as per norms.

Campus Life :

There is no such restrictions with co- education. They can study together. Their relationship are co-ordinal. Seperate wash rooms or other essential needs are provided to both of gender. There is no such high political drama in the college. Every student treated equally without any differentiate between caste, religion, colour, gender, etc.

Admission :

Already passed out. Then I got admission through Class X marks. I got admission in 2002 for I. Sc. maths. Then, this course is offered to students who secured atleast 60% marks in class X. After that, I got admission in BSc. At present, you have to score more than 75% marks to secure a seat for your enrollment.

Charuchndra college is famous for its cocurricular activities like football cricket etc.Every year college host an annual event for students.one year they have invited somulata ( singer) to that event. Also events like Saraswati puja, independence day teachers day are been celebrated in the college

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Feasible, at my period of 2012-2017 they accept only offline mode but i think nowdays they accept online mode of payment also. No such Extra fees you have to pay for admission. They charges only the basic amount as like every college as for. No the college doesn't provide transparency in fee
