The Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, (BIT) Ranchi annually conducts the entrance test to its full-time, regular Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course in an online computer-based mode. BIT MCA is one of the most competitive and sought after the exam in the country.

Applicants who have successfully completed the BIT MCA 2022 exam by qualifying the counselling will be invited to attend the 2-year (4-semester) Full-Time MCA course at BIT Mesra and its Campuses for the 2022-22 season.

Factors determining BIT MCA 2022

The total number of seats available for different courses at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) and its campuses in Mesra, Jaipur, Lalpur, and Noida.

BIT MCA 2022 Counselling Process

The process of counseling begins shortly after the declaration of results for the candidates. Based on the choices filled in by them in their application forms, a list for the same for each center will be notified on the official website (bitmesra.ac.in/) and will be updated regularly.

Each BIT Mesra center will shortlist candidates for the counseling based on their performance in the BITMCA entrance test, provided they have applied to the same center and fulfill the desired eligibility criteria.

Thus, the counseling schedules for each BIT Mesra center, based on the scores will be displayed by the third week of June on the official website of the institute, the notice board at the institute and the concerned extension centers only. It is important to note that no separate intimation will be sent to the students and they should stay updated by way of regularly checking the website of the institute.

BIT MCA 2022 Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be based on the marks obtained by him/her in the BIT MCA Entrance test
After the list of selected candidates will be released, they will be called for document verification by the exam authorities
Candidates will be offered admission only if they met the desired eligibility criteria as set by the BIT Institute
In case there will be seats left, the wait-listed candidates will be called for document verification and the admission process
Candidates offered provisional admission who are still appearing for their final examination in 2022 will also be eligible to apply

If any information filled in by the candidate is found to be incorrect/misleading
Who failed to submit the final degree/qualifying examination in the given time period
Who failed to secure minimum marks to meet the eligibility criteria in the degree/qualifying examination

BIT MCA 2022 Result

The results for BIT MCA entrance test are expected to be released in June 2022 after which will begin the selection procedure. The results of the candidates will be available on the official website, where they can check their results by entering their enrolment number.

Candidates are advised to enter their details very carefully and correctly for accessing their results. Once the result is accessed, the candidates should check the personal information mentioned on the same in case of any technical error or glitch.

Candidates are also advised to save their results and print out two-three copies of the same for its use in the admission process in the future.

BIT MCA 2022 Reservation

The reservation policy followed by the institute is explained below:

Any of the programs offered by the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) and its campuses in Mesra, Jaipur, Lalpur, and Noida are funded by the Government of the State.
The requirements for the reservation for admission to the State Quota Institute shall be followed in accordance with the norms of the Government of the State.
In case any of the courses did not support the requirements set by the Government of the State, the reservation requirements followed is set out in the policy of the Central Government – Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15%, Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5%.
The Institute also provided a 3% reservation limit for people with disabilities (PwD) candidates.
One seat is reserved in all centers for the children of Kashmiri migrants.
50% of the total seats are reserved in all centers for applicants who have passed the BIT MCA test.
Up to 6% of the seats are reserved for the children of BIT workers at its Extension Centres.

An important thing to note is that in case seats from a particular group remain vacant due to lack of suitable candidates, the institute, in this case, reserves the right to fill the same from another group.

BIT MCA 2022 Documents Required During Counselling

Candidates carried the originals of the following documents at the time of reporting for admission cum verification of documents, as well as one set of self-attested photocopies:

Mark sheet of Class 10
Mark sheet of Class 12 / Intermediate or equivalent
Mark sheets of Graduation for graduates or mark sheets up to a pre-final year for candidates graduating in 2018. She/he must also bring a certificate from the Principal of Institute stating that:

By June 30 2022, she/he should have appeared for the examination in all subjects required for obtaining his/her Bachelor’s degree
She/he should have obtained requisite marks or equivalent based on the latest available grades/marks

Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance learning programs must carry proof of pass certificate in addition to mark sheets of graduation and proof of the program recognized by the DEC-IGNOU on the letterhead of the Institute/College /University.

Photo identification: (Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Aadhaar Card, Employee Identification Card are acceptable). They should also carry a photocopy of their duly completed online application form.
