GRE Analyze an Argument examines your ability to understand and analyze the arguments, evaluating them in the form of an essay. GRE question contains a brief passage describing a course of events. You need to write an essay of 500-600 words and finish GRE analytical writing in 30 minutes. You will need to critically scrutinize the evidence and reasons presented in support of the claims and respond to the task by writing an essay. - supports its main points adequately, but may be unable to clarify in its support

Score 3: Limited
Usually a 3 response demonstrates some competence in addressing the specific task directions, in examining the argument and in conveying meaning, but is obviously flawed.

- does not identify or examine most of the aspects of the argument relevant to the assigned task
- mainly discusses irrelevant matters, or reasons given are poorly constructed
- limited logical of idea
- offers support and value for its main points

Score 2: Seriously Flawed
Generally a 2 response largely disregards the specific task directions as it signifies serious weaknesses in analytical writing.

- does not follow the directions for the assigned task
- poorly organized and illogical ideas
