Ayush Tripathy Admission Experience

Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Ayush Tripathy: “General (No reservation).”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Ayush Tripathy: “Admission process in LBSIM was offline in 2020. First was WAT and then GD-PI. Both happened on the same day. The topic of WAT was related to the latest news and general awareness. After wat, GD took place. The topic of wat and GD both was "Do winning state elections pave a path for winning national elections." Total Students were divided into different days. Mine was on the first day. There were 7-8 members in one gd. They gave approx 20 minutes to write and then we were asked to discuss the same. Reading newspapers is the only tip for MBA aspirants.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Ayush Tripathy: “Do winning state elections pave a path for winning national elections.”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Ayush Tripathy: “My reply was no, winning state elections is not an indication that the same govt will win national elections. Yes, chances are comparatively high but there is no surety of it. We can say that the government is working pure-heartedly in that state which does not mean that the national government will also work on the same lines. Also handling a state and handling a nation are two very different things.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Ayush Tripathy: “There were many panels during the interview. Mostly the panel members were institute faculties. It was completely offline in the LBSIM campus. My Interview panel had 4 faculties. The interview was not too stressful. Teachers tried to check the confidence of the person. It continued for 7-8 mins. There were 2 female and 2 male members. Faculties tried to understand the situation of students and gave them a chance to recall.”

Ayush Tripathy: “1. They asked if I read newspapers. If yes then which one.

I said yes. I read business-standard.

  1. They asked about my stand on CAA NRC

I told you what I thought about it.

  1. My opinion on GST.
  2. One movie that teaches something.
  3. My biggest achievement"

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Ayush Tripathy: “1. Brand name and NIRF ranking

  1. Placements
  2. It's the experience of teaching and alumni base of 25 years "

What was the reason for you not converting other colleges? (if any)

Ayush Tripathy: “I converted a few other colleges, but was not able to convert top colleges because my percentile was less as compared to their cut-off. During my admission, it was covid time and students were planning for reattempt rather than the cutoff of colleges. In one college my interview was very bad. They asked about my prior academics and asked the reason for my continuously decreasing scores. I answered that I was studying CA. Then they started asking questions related to the share market and other stuff.”
