Dr. R. Raja has been working as the Principal of Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College, Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu. He has done ME and PhD as part of his academics and he is also the Fellow of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers. He has published more than 12 research papers in the reputed International Journals. He is also the Convener for ICIET'14 , Editor of IRJES Journal and Life Member in IETE. Our Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College offers several programs for the students to nurture innovation and Entrepreneurship skills in them. In particular, we organize “Startup Pathiyam” on the first Tuesday of each month and popular startups, entrepreneurs, business people, mentors and students participate in this event. In addition to this, we have signed MOUs with startup ecosystem accelerators such as Native Lead, Startup Payanam, Startup Grind and TEDCO for the purpose of conducting at least five programs in collaboration with these amazing forums every month. We invite successful startup founders as guests for all the programs.

We invite eminent speakers from various domains to train and educate our faculties on latest technologies and finest teaching methodologies. We have also signed MOUs with various industries like Embien Technologies and A&T Networks etc. and in collaboration with them, we organize faculty development programs to upgrade the skills of our teaching staff as and when required.

We have built a good network with many reputed industry experts across Madurai, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram region. Our college regularly invites eminent industry experts and leaders for all the "Startup Pathiyam" programs, which helps us to stay updated with the latest industrial trends, development and requirements and our students easily receive hands-on experience by working on real time industrial projects. In addition to all this, industrial visits, webinars and workshops are conducted for students' benefits from time to time.

What difficulties are you facing while inculcating these programs in your curriculum?

"Allocating time for both academic and co-curricular activities and bringing best industries in college"

Some of the major challenges which we are facing presently are difficulty in distributing proper amounts of time for both academics and co-curricular activities for students. Next hurdle which we have in front of us is enhancing the industrial exposure of students and bringing industry experts and students together. 

On what kind of projects your students are currently working through these programs?

"They are working on different types of projects and has made amazing products like solar sprayer"

Our students are currently working on a wide variety of real time projects and some of the amazing products they have built are parotta making machine, solar trolley, solar sprayer, coconut peeling machine, organic soap product, fish cutting & cleaning machine, electric cycle, smart hen cage, plasto pavers and yavi etc.
