Rai University celebrates National Science Day 2020

Rai University celebrated National Science Day with the theme "Women in Science" by acknowledging the contributions to Science by Nobel Laureate Dr. C.V. Raman. The celebrations started as per Indian Tradition by the Dignitaries lighting the lamp. Prof. Ashish Rami elcomed the gathering by asking the students to connect science with day to day applications.

The keynote Speaker Ms. Deepali Paun, Registered Indian Patent Agent and Intellectual Property Attorney emphasized the role of Science and contribution of Women in particular. She also related Patent and Research and called upon budding Scientists to work towards patenting their work. Prof. Veerendra Nagoria presented a momento to Keynote Speaker as token of gratitude. This event was coordinated by Prof. Pradeep Kumar Singh and Dr. Soham Trivedi under the able guidance of Dr. Anil Tomar, Provost and Prof. Lalit Adhikari, Registrar.

Rai University organized three events to commemorate National Science Day. Extempore (One Minute Speech) was judged by Prof. Ashish Rami, Dr. D.M. Patel and Dr. Sailesh lyer. The Science Quiz was judged by Dr. K.V. Patel and Dr. Nita Solanki. Scitoon Event was judged by Prof. Veerendra Singh Nagoria, Prof. Rajdipsinh Vaghela and Prof. Pradip Maradi.

Valedictory function marked the felicitation of winners in Extempore Miss Payal Kumari (Ist) and Mr. Bhargav (IInd). The Science Quiz winner team were composed of Miss Payal Kumari, Mr. Om Nandasana and Miss. Tanya Thakur, and Scitoon winners Miss Pooja Yadav(Ist) and Mr. Tirth Patel (II"d) by the Judges. This was followed by Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Soham Trivedi. He thanked the Patrons, Participants. Volunteers and Staff members for making this event successful.


6th Convocation held at Rai University​

Rai University Ahmedabad witnessed a landmark celebration on the occasion of the 6th convocation. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr.Balwant Shantilala Jani, Chancellor, Dr, Harisinh Gour Central Univesity, Madhya Pradesh. The Guest of Honor Shri Mukeshbhai Patel, MLA, OLPAD, Surat, Gujrat. The Dignitaries on the dais included Dr. Anil Tomar, Provost, Prof. Lalit Adhikari Registrar, Deans, and the Head of Departments of Rai University.

Convocation Day proceedings began with a grand academic procession led by Registrar, Provost, Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, and Dignitaries, followed by invoking the blessings of the almighty and lighting of the lamp.

Dr. Anil Tomar congratulated the graduating students and highlighted that, to overcome future challenges, one has to display character, think out of the box, have smarter goals, and move out of the comfort zone. He assured the students of full co-operation from University Authorities and asked them to remain connected with the University.

Dr. Balwant Shantilal Jani lauded the achievement of students. He asked them to get rid of jealousy and guided them towards society and nation-building. He also appreciated the efforts of Rai University in imparting traditional values to students and organizing this convocation as per Indian culture in the lush green campus.

This year witnessed the 589 students being awarded degrees, out of which, 26 gold medalists were from various disciplines, including Engineering, Information Technology, Art, Sciences, Commerce, Management, and Education. Ms. Rajitha Nair, B.Sc(Agriculture), gained the distinction of being awarded the university topper.Prof. Lalit Adhikari, Registrar, Rai University thanked the chief guest, dignitaries, and all the stakeholders for making the convocation memorable. The event concluded with the National Anthem. 


Rai University organizes ICEET 2020

International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering & Technology, ICEET2020 was organized by the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Rai University, Ahmedabad (A Research Driven University) recently.The inauguration ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Anil Tomar, (Provost and Patron, ICEET 2020), Prof. Lalit Adhikari (Registrar and Co-Patron, ICEET 2020) and Dr. Mariyam Kaveshgar (Keynote Speaker, ICEET 2020). The official release of the Proceedings of the International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology was performed by the Dignitaries and Session Chairs. 

Dr. Anil Tomar, the Provost, extended a warm welcome to all the Dignitaries and participants and urged them to engage in knowledge sharing and use this opportunity for creating a network of researchers in their particular domain. He also emphasized the research community to focus on current and upcoming technologies like IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Green Cloud, Smart Grid, etc. The Keynote address by Dr. Mariyam Kaveshgar focused on research conducted in Autonomous vehicles or self-driven vehicles and the challenges in the Indian context. She focused on the use of IoT, Big Data, and Sensors in addition to considering Human factors and gave the audience a glimpse of opportunities involved in this multidisciplinary research.

The paper presentations were broadly divided into four tracks consisting of Computer Science and Engineering/IT, chaired by Prof.(Dr.) Amit Ganatra, Civil Engineering by Prof.(Dr.) K.D. Acharya, Mechanical Engineering by Dr. Dhaval M Patel, and Electrical Engineering by Dr. Axay Mehta.The participants and the research scholars presented their innovative ideas and contribution in the form of research papers. They were guided by their respective Track Chairs and subject experts on the research directions ahead.

The International Conference received tremendous response from all over India with over 150 papers out of which 45 papers were accepted after the peer-review process. The selected Conference papers would be published in UGC CARE Journal.

The valedictory function marked the presentation of best paper awards in respective tracks and distribution of certificates to participants. The Track chairs expressed their satisfaction and appreciated the efforts undertaken by Rai University to host this International Conference successfully. Prof. Veerendra Singh Nagoria, Deputy Registrar (Academics) expressed gratitude to all the distinguished Dignitaries and lauded the Participants, Organizing Committee and Staff members for making this event a grand success.
