Dr. Piyush Ranjan is the Registrar at Jharkhand Rai University. He has spent a considerable amount of time in the education sector and believes in the holistic approach towards attaining excellence. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector? 

“Commitment creativity and conceptual skills are the key factors for success”

With a rich experience of more than 17 years as an academician and administrator, I have always believed in 3Cs in my life, i.e., Commitment, Creativity & Conceptual Skills, which connect me with the education sector.

Education is proven to be the most potent weapon. I remember a famous saying by famous Greek philosopher Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” We believe in educating the young mind to be a successful citizen. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style? 

“Any organisation can reach to its success with the help of a smart Leader”

To make the work done by others is the most formidable job in this world & this is only possible when you have specific leadership skills within yourself. It is equally essential for a leader to be a torchbearer for the team. If your team respects your personality, it always pays off. As a leader, I believe in a Transformational Leadership Style, where it is crucial to be a mentor for the team rather than being a strict boss. 

In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute/ university/ school?

What do you think should be Jharkhand Rai University’s top priority over the next 10 years? 

“Our top priority over the next ten years will be as follows”

  • To strengthen the Agricultural research & extension activities. 
  • To contribute in increasing the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of the state. 
  • To focus on the healthcare education system like Yoga & Naturopathy, AYUSH, Nursing etc. 
  • To focus on developing digital learning environment in the University 
  • Providing Skill based education to the student fraternity 
  • To extend training, education & consultancy to the local community. 
  • To promote courses on Indian Ethos, Art & Culture. 

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are? 

“I keep a holistic approach towards development of the institution and students”

As an academic administrator, my role will always be integral and conducive, helping create a holistic approach for the University, Students, and Society. Our responsibility towards society's development is never ending, and we continuously engage ourselves as an articulator to create responsible citizens with values, ethics, and necessary life skills.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students? 

“There are few suggestions I want to propose to the current youth & the aspiring students”

  • Develop digital skills in yourself which is the demand of the hour 
  • Choose a career which have a progress graph 
  • Opt for Skill based education which will make you more employable 
  • Believe in yourself and be confident. 
  • Be a good citizen.
