Prof. Harsh Purohit is a Dean of FMS Wisdom and Faculty of Law in the Banasthali Vidyapith, Tonk. He did B.com Taxation, Master of financial administration, and completed PhD. He heads the National Center for Corporate Governance setup by the National Foundation for Corporate Governance. He is a Board of Directors of 2 companies. Prof. Harsh Purohit is selected by the University to act as Chair Professor of ICICI Bank Chair for BFSI at Banasthali Vidyapith during 2008-2017. He has contributed in raising CSR grants for the University from Bank of America, SBI, Tech Mahindra Foundation, HDFC Bank, and Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation. He has recently conceptualized the framework of ‘Holistic Electoral Competency Rating’, ‘Bharatiya Model of Financial and Digital Literacy’ and ‘Work-Life Natural Fusion’. He received 9 awards from Principal Mutual Funds, ICSI, Lions Club for promotion of Financial Literacy in India. I joined Banasthali in 1999 and led the management in 2012. We become the largest women's campus. I always contributed for Research, infrastructure, placements and enrollment of pupils. 

How do you make the students aware about the importance of Law?

“Guide students about lawyers' role in nation and importance of judiciary”

We provide details about lawyers' roles for our nation. On the other side, they get sessions related to the importance of the judiciary. Our pupils understand all these values and succeed in legal areas.

What is the top priority of Banasthali Vidyapith, Tonk over the next 3 years?

“To provide justice oriented education, improve in teaching, learning, and evaluation areas on campus”

Our campus contains a long history of nurturing women leaders. We produce legal professionals of the highest order possessing strong virtues to society. The campus aim is to impart world class legal education to girls from different parts of the country. We give a one time philanthropic grant to meet the expenses of the Law School Building. Our priority is to provide justice oriented education as per Indian constitution values for students. We also decided to enrich teaching, learning, and evaluation areas on campus.

What experience have you gained over the decades being an integral member of this institute? 

“Holistic development in teaching, new subjects and industry related topics from campus”

I learned a lot from the campus during my 23 years. I wish to follow the same values and ethics in the upcoming period. An individual can enrich their IQ, skills and other sections from the campus. Holistic development in teaching, new subjects and industry related topics are great assets for me.

How do you define your connection with students and faculties? 

“Focus on fusion instead of balance among members inside the campus”

We formulate a family-like atmosphere and strong connections among members on campus. Our campus focuses on fusion instead of balancing among members. The coordination of students and faculties are the primary importance of campus. Banasthali life is wonderful and the attribution is very low. 

What do you get when you look back on your time in the educational industry? 

“Tech savviness came into being deeply and got more prominence in VUCA-NW”

Our campus is getting more prominent with VUCA-NW. The tech savviness is deeply rooted in our culture. I gain various values, ideas and new concepts when I look back on my time in the education sector.
