What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students being a faculty in Sangam University?

“To promote interactive learning, outdoor activities and professional skills of students through seminars or conferences”

We present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual or audio means to facilitate learning. Our faculties give individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning. We create and distribute educational content such as notes, summaries, assignments and more. Moreover, we assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback. I always maintain an orderly classroom, collaborate with other teachers, parents and participate in regular meetings. Institute plan and execute educational in-class, outdoor activities and events. As a faculty, I always observe and understand students’ behavior and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc. It ensures me to develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with students and fellow faculty?

“Follow trustworthiness, listening habits, respect boundaries and get feedback on our campus”

A teacher’s relationships with his/her colleagues and students are incredibly important. Because, they contribute to a more positive environment at the workplace. We follow trustworthiness, the habit of listening to everyone, asking questions, giving and taking support from colleagues, or respecting boundaries etc. All these are good human behaviors which can build healthy relationships with students and fellow faculty.

What is your philosophy of leadership and describe your leadership style in Sangam University?

“Results oriented leadership style follows me and works as a team”

I would describe my leadership style as results oriented. In an ideal case, I’d like to have goals in place for every single employee regardless of how simple their job is. Once we set the goals in place, we can set milestones, or daily schedules for everyone. I can lead them on their way to continuously attain their goals, checking their progress daily, making sure they know what they are supposed to do, delegating work, counseling them, and so on. My duty is to lead people in the way that they can see the bigger picture. Their work may seem routine or even lacking sense at times in automotive. I explain everyone the role their work plays on the final product, and as a team. In my experience, it works wonders with their motivation. At the end of the day, we all are looking for a purpose, a meaning to our everyday work and existence.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it's updated to make it befitting for the students?

“Update the curriculum on time in the campus for students' benefit”

Revamping the curriculum and updating it on time is very necessary to make pace with the ever changing world. We update the curriculum for the beneficial and overall development of individuals and education as a whole. Everyone involved right from the administrators all the way down to the students' benefits. This gives enough reason to promote more of it. We update the curriculum as the need of the hour and it is quite essential to understand the importance of the same.

What are your views on the placements and higher education of the students from Sangam University?

“Provide job opportunities and higher education training for pupils from the campus itself”

Every student wants to get a job right after completing the course. Keeping this factor in mind, it is important that the university should have a dedicated placement cell. It ensures visiting of good companies to the university to provide employment opportunities. If the university itself has higher education in every department, then students would like to opt for it in the same university. Higher education is the need of the hour in every field. Mere graduation is not enough to get a higher position in the corporate sector and in academia.

How do you help your students to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

“Improve competitive spirit, and technical skills among students”

Competition among the students is getting more and more high these days either in education or or getting jobs in the outside world. One will be placed at the end even though the student has capability. It is essential to know the interests of students. I will encourage and improve the competitive spirit and technical skills among students. Competition brings out the best in students and pushes them to excel. It can enhance learning significantly if used in the University effectively.

Do you have any extracurricular activities or programmes to enhance the skills of students or expose them to real world challenges?

“Provide extra-curricular activities like Sports, Community Services and more on campus”

When any student is looking for a job he needs to have more on CV instead of academic achievement. So, make sure that students must access opportunities in extra-curricular activities like Sports, Community Services like medical camps in nearby areas, Arts, Hobbies, etc. I would suggest students to participate in the Academic Activity, Community Service Activity and Personality Activity. All these assist to enhance students skills in a competitive environment.

What are the challenges you faced to uplift the quality of education in Sangam University?

“Need to pay more attention to solutions instead of problems”

Challenges make us stronger and are good to find solutions. The major changes in anything at first cause resistance. Upliftment of quality in education is the same and every problem brings solution with it. We need to pay more attention to solutions rather than problems.

What are the interventions and approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to train or teach the students?

“Begin sessions with a mindful minute and track students' level through feedback”

We bring out plenty of feedbacks from the students side. Feedback is a great way for students to know quickly whether they are on the right track or need to take a different way. It doesn't mean that all feedback has to be formal. On other hand, it can be quick verbal cues to help students progress. We begin class with a mindful minute. The excitement and disruption caused by transitions between classes can be challenging for students and teachers alike. At the beginning of every class, I take 60-80 seconds to help students focus attention on their breathing and calm nervous system. It helps their brain to become ready to learn.

What valuable advice would you like to give for the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

“Face your challenges, focus on strengths and achieve your targets”

Nobody is tailor-made for a particular thing, and nobody is fit enough for everything that comes their way. In most things, others are exceptionally good at while you are not, rather than giving up or feeling bad about something you could not do well. Be easy on yourself and know that a few weaknesses are just an important ingredient for any successful human. You do not have to excel at everything that comes your way. In some instances, it is the mere fact that you tried that matters the most. Look at the brighter side of the coin rather than just getting disheartened. It is necessary going from a naughty youngster to a responsible man is a quick turn. All you need to do is face your challenges well. Failures and success are inevitable. It is better to focus on your strengths and stay determined to achieve your targets. This would be a smarter way to go about things without getting disheartened.
