Since more than 17 years ago, Dr. Swapnali Bhosale has worked tirelessly in the field of education, driven by a desire to develop and nurture today's kids and tomorrow's aspiring professionals. Due to her abilities as a strategic thinker, policy maker, and inventor, she has ascended the institutional hierarchy from professor to head of department to deputy director at her current institution. She generates solutions to real-time business issues and diverse ideas for the day-to-day execution of work. She believes in smart work and possesses the managerial skills necessary to delegate tasks to lower-level employees.

Swapnali has always provided inspiration to her students. She is able to train and advise the kids with the same level of dedication and enthusiasm. Her former students are now employed in prestigious corporations, but they continue to view her as their mentor and advocate.

Being the Dy. Director of RIIM, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

"I believe in democratic leadership because I believe that everyone contributes to the growth and improvement of the company"

There is no single correct method for performing a task. I am confident in my team members' capabilities and their commitment to the organisation. If the proper work environment is provided, people will not only develop professionally but also personally, feel valued, and contribute more. As a result of the epidemic, we must be more sensitive to the emotional and psychological requirements of our employees in the workplace. The workforce below the leadership emulates the leadership's qualities. I have a strong belief in strong moral principles, a strong sense of commitment, tenacity, and determination. A leader must practice what they preach, which pretty much says it all.


The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your RIIM?

RIIM focuses on individual and personalised attention through the mentoring aspect wherein you have a mentor in your 2 years journey at RIIM Pune. What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

As a management institute, our fundamental tenet is to impart practical management skills by uniting innovative young minds with seasoned business and academic professionals. Our value system is the observance of business ethics and code, and we are proud of it. To make the young managers ready for their corporate life ahead, we have a professional and experienced team which works continuously and relentlessly to ensure that our students are ready to face the challenges of tomorrow. Some of the skill sets that we foster in our children through nurturing and grooming are inquisitiveness, creative thinking, and the capacity to think outside of the box. Our primary objective is to establish a world-class centre for management education, training, and research, so helping young people to realise their full potential and become global leaders.


What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

In the 21st century's dynamic and competitive atmosphere, the world is shrinking. Many more corporations and economies worldwide are fast integrating into a global community where uncertainty and change are the norm. In this constantly changing environment of the VUCA world where V stands for Volatile, U for Uncertain, C for complex and A for ambiguous, the need of the hour is to provide quality education that transcends geographies and markets which prepares students to become global citizens and adapt to the ever-changing requirements of the corporate.
