St. Joseph's Degree College

Does the college offer extracurricular activities to enhance student’s skills or expose them to real-world challenges?

Positive attitude among the students is a must to achieve success in life”

At our college, we have certain clubs like Cultural, Debate, Eco Club, Youth Red Cross Club to enhance student’s skills. In addition, we have got certain cells like sexual harassment cell, grievance cell, anti-ragging cell, etc. to guide students in becoming good Indian citizens.

How do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive scenario?

“It is important to be the best but also to keep evolving to say the best”

Students are advised to take advantage of their strengths and opportunity and minimize their weaknesses and eliminate threats. At our college, we do have a career guidance cell which is run by the Career Guidance Committee. The committee usually helps the students to develop a positive attitude towards life and to select their careers cautiously.

What suggestions would you like to give to the aspiring students?

“There’s more joy in giving than receiving”

In my opinion, youth must try to spend time with their family and friends. In the current generation, the students are always busy with their gadgets and really miss out on the beauty of relationships and hence face issues in bonding with people during the later stages of life. So, give equal importance to your career and family.

How can your university be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“The learning environment in a Class can affect student engagement and performance”

Whether the class is in a large lecture hall, a small seminar, or a laboratory section, a learning environment where all feel safe, valued, and respected is necessary for students to achieve and demonstrate their full potential. It is the responsibility of faculty members to treat every student as an individual and to focus on the learning success of each student in a Class.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

"I feel more enthusiastic and delighted when I am with my students exchanging knowledge and ideas”

While I held key positions at an educational institute, I found that constantly learning and being upskilled for the current trends was important. I always motivate the students to learn for a better future and enable a healthy exchange of thoughts.

What do you see as St. Joseph College’s greatest strengths?

Socialization and Collaboration give an edge over others at the workplace”

It’s a great privilege to work at St. Joseph’s College. I started my career as a fresher in this institution. Academic strengths are character traits that made me exceptional from others in a learning environment. These are inbound in me and are shown when I’m in competition or when I must show how good I’m in a particular learning field. These are the prime strengths of our institution where all of us have imbibed happily.

What can an inbound student gain from studying in your institute?

“Benefits of being an affiliated institute for better exposure and activity-based learning”

Because of the phenomenal advances in collaboration and internet technology, every faculty member and student has access to courses taught by teachers from globally accredited institutes and industries. We encourage them to learn from these sources. We also support experimentation where anyone who fails in an experiment is encouraged to find the fault and re-try after due corrective measures. We constantly try to emphasize that technology should always be used for the betterment of humanity and support application-oriented projects.
