Prof. Sunilkumar S Bhosale has been working as Professor in Anantrao Pawar College of Architecture, Pune, Maharashtra. He has done B. Arch from Pune University in 1994 and M. Phil in Environmental Design in Architecture from Cambridge University of UK 1998 as part of his academics.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector? 

"My desire of sharing my knowledge with youths and produce competent Architect for society are main reasons"

I always had the passion of educating students and youths of our society in order to offer them a good quality life and bright future and produce a better Architect for the society. And the education sector, having a highly challenging and dynamic nature offers me perfect opportunities to fulfill my ambitions. And all these factors together have helped me stay connected with the education sector for so long.

At Anantrao Pawar College of Architecture, how do you strategize the key programs for your college?

"We all work as a team to fulfill shared goals and achieve our vision of imparting quality education"

Our respected Principal takes an overall review of the programs and functions which are organized in our college on a regular basis and we assign tasks to all our stakeholders depending on their skill sets. Apart from this, training programs are conducted to ensure everyone has better performance and minimal errors. 

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of industry?

"We educate students beyond curriculum by organizing field visits and practical learning sessions"

At APCOA, we go beyond the syllabus designed by the University and impart and enhance students' knowledge through events like site visits and hands-on learning sessions. In addition to this, social events and NSS activities are conducted too as and when required.

What career options would be available for students after pursuing different courses from your college?

As far as I have observed the market development and requirements, I can assure that limitless work opportunities are present in the outside world for skillful Architect and Interior Designers. And our students can work as an Architect, Architectural Assistant, Architecture Designer, Technical Assistant, Manager, Landscape Architect, Building Contractors, Architecture Engineer and Project Assistant Manager after pursuing B.Arch Degree course while after pursuing B. Voc in Interior Designing and Food Processing and Quality Control, they can work as Interior Designers and Freelancers in Real Estate Companies, Event Management Agencies, Design Marketing Companies, Colleges and Universities and also as a Teacher, Food Technologist and Chef.

What kind of co-curricular activities are organized by your college to enhance students skills?

"Sports activities, social events and NSS activities are regularly arranged by us for students"

Our college firmly believes that extracurricular activities are very important for students along with academics to maintain the balance between two. Hence we regularly organize sports events to keep students physically and mentally strong, drama to enhance their acting skills, social activities and events to make them socially responsible and sensitive.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general in the field of Architecture?

"Students declining interest towards their studies and Architecture field is a real challenge"

In my opinion, students' declining interest towards their studies and lack of awareness about the opportunities which the Architecture field offers is a great hindrance in the development of higher education systems in the country. In addition to this, lack of qualified faculties, lesser interaction of teaching staff with industry people and students inclination towards multidisciplinary courses are some of the other challenges we as an institution are facing nowadays.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

"If you aspire to create a future in the field of Architecture, pursue it with patience and perseverance"

From my professional experience, I can assure that Architecture is a wonderful field despite being less financially rewarding than other fields, but one has to enter in this domain to experience the amazingness of it. So, I would like to advise my dear students and youths of our society to pursue Architecture Degree courses with patience as end results would be truly satisfactory in nature.
