How much money do we initially require to get into NLU Delhi?

MJ
Meena Jain Posted On : September 14th, 2021
B.A.LL.B from Hidayatullah National Law University (2014)

One of my cousins graduated from NLU Delhi and having read online reviews of the alumni, here are some things I got to know regarding your query.

  • Initially, you need a good AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) score to get into NLU Delhi.
  • You will have to pay the admission fees and tuition fees as per the University’s guidelines.
  • You can opt for an education loan also.
  • The fee comes to be INR 1.38 Lakhs for the first year and for the next four years, the fee to be paid is INR 1.25 Lakhs. The total fee would be 6.40 Lakhs.
  • If you are also preparing for the CLAT exam, you need to understand the changes in the pattern and their effect on you.

It is also important to understand the pattern of the paper over the years. Watch videos containing predictions for the legal section for 2021 providing marks for which subjects can come.

What is the rank of National Law University, Delhi? Where does it rank compared to NLISU, NALSAR, and NUJS?

HP
Hansa Pal Posted On : September 8th, 2021
Studied Law at National Law University, Delhi (2021)

Comparing any institute among NLISU, NALSAR, and NUJS is not an easy task. Moreover, all the colleges are good but there are some pros and cons seen in every institution.

NLU Delhi has surpassed NUJS, but it is yet to catch up with NALSAR or NLS. The reasons are quite straightforward.

The first two batches of NLU Delhi have secured amazing placements and showed tremendous growth.Even though it is true that current placement numbers show that NUJS has an edge, the vital reason behind this is that the batch size was a handful too.

Secondly, Delhi has an upper hand in its location. It is near to many corporate houses and IT firms. Students can go for training and internships there. It is a preferred destination for education for most North Indian students, who form the bulk of CLAT takers.

On the other hand, if you see, Calcutta is not really a dynamic city anymore; rather, it has become static. Thus, most people who would get NLUD and NUJS would naturally lean toward NLUD.

How is/was your life in NALSAR, NLSIU or NLU-D?

RC
Rishi Chabria Posted On : September 8th, 2021
Studied at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, graduated in 2020

One of my friends studied at NLU. According to him, life at NLU was challenging. It was not difficult but challenging in a way that the beliefs he had changed gradually. It helped him learn things about himself and evolve. He learned that life in a hostel is what someone makes of it.

  • The hostels of NLU Delhi feel more like a boarding school as there are restrictions galore, not only in the form of timings of entry and exit but for the hostels in entirety.
  • NLU suffers from the lack of sporting culture and sufficient facilities for sports. Other than for volleyball, basketball and to some extent for badminton also.
  • Due to the attitude of the administration, it is difficult to play football and cricket.
  • The library of NLU is very good and it allows a lot of subscriptions for students who have various interests.
  • The library also provides room for legal research and learning which is enviable.
  • There are hardly any events in the institute. Students usually head out of campus for having fun.

Speaking about NALSAR and NLSIU, both their campus extra-curricular activities are much more vibrant than NLU Delhi. However, both institutes have a competitive environment for study and also have a lot to offer, unlike NLU Delhi.

As per the AILET's official announcement, around 50% of the 110 undergraduate level merit seats at NLU Delhi are reserved for students who are a resident of Delhi.

10 seats are allocated for direct admission based on merit divided evenly between foreign nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).

This 50% reservation of seats at NLU Delhi would also be applicable for the incoming up to 70 one-year LLM candidates, as well as the other reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Persons with Disabilities).

Make sure that you go through all the criteria for the reservation applicability.

Which is better, RMLNLU or NLU Delhi?

PG
Piyali Guha Posted On : March 29th, 2022
studied Bachelor of Law at National Law University, Delhi (2017)

Among these NLU Delhi is better. It offers great infrastructural facilities, a dedicated faculty base, and a diverse culture. The location of the institute offers students the opportunities to explore. It has many tie-ups through which students can connect internationally. Usually, NLUD is the first choice for all domestic and international conferences and seminars.

The institute has a huge library, thanks to the enormous grant. The classrooms are spacious and equipped with all smart education facilities. The hostel accommodation is pretty good, the rooms are airconditioned. NLUD has an enviable moot court.

In the present scenario, National Law University in Delhi can only be compared to NLSIU Bangalore and NALSAR Hyderabad.

Which one is better NLU Delhi or NLSIU?

SK
Shikha Kapoor Posted On : September 14th, 2021

There is no doubt that NLS is the superior institute. It has many advantages in terms of ranking, exposure, and faculty. Even though NLUD is making significant progress and its infrastructure can be considered better than NLS but still it lags behind in certain aspects.

  • NLSIU has one of the best law libraries in the country. It also has a pretty strong alumni network that would take NLUD a minimum of 15 years to replicate.
  • NLU Delhi was founded recently and has already established itself as one of the greatest law schools in the country.
  • I would strongly advise you to attend NLS Bangalore if you have the opportunity to do so. My cousin who pursued a course from NLS Bangalore is now working in a reputable firm for over 2 years.

The placement details for NLSIU Bangalore for the year 2020 is mentioned in the table below:

Particulars Statistics
Total Students 80
Students registered for Placements 58
Highest Package  INR 18 Lakhs per annum
Lowest package  INR 15 Lakhs per annum
Top Recruiters L&L Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, ICICI Bank, Societe Generale etc

People may advise you to attend NLUD as it is closer to your home, but you will learn, explore, and enjoy your college years more if you go to a different city, away from your parents, and discover everything on your own.

The main difference between NLU Delhi and other NLUs is the entrance examination. The other NLUs take admission through CLAT. NLU Delhi has a separate examination for admission which is AILET. NLU Delhi AILET Cutoff 2021 for the BALLB course was 77 (General). The AILET 2021 cutoff for LLM was 38 (General).
