studied Bachelor of Commerce & Master of Commerce at Shri Ram College of Commerce (2015)

SRCC provides honours courses only in B.Com (hons) or Economics (hons) for which Maths is compulsory in 12th.

The procedure is as follows:

  • You will be selected on the basis of calculating your best 4 subject’s marks making sure that 1 language is counted in it.
  • Fill in the online form and mention the college names as preference.
  • Wait for the cutoff and see whether you have cleared SRCC cutoff or not.
  • Then go to the college with all your academic documents, including identity or address proofs to complete the admission process.

It is recommended that you score a 97.5 - 97.25% or above if you are from the unreserved category.

Can I get admission in SRCC without studying Mathematics in class 12?

NJ
Nikita Jain Posted On : January 10th, 2022
B.Com. Hons. from Shri Ram College of Commerce (2017)

Delhi University almost every year comes up with a different set of rules and regulations.

So even though you can get admission by securing 2.5% more than the declared cut off, however, the final list for General candidates was 97.25% last year. You might have to score a 99.75% in your class 12th examinations.

In case cut offs increase, you will need a perfect 100 in 4 subjects. So getting in is really difficult.

If you are not from the general category, then the cut offs will be lower and you might get through even without mathematics.

However, in the beginning, the admission requirements change often, hence you may never know that some small changes in the rules might get you in. So always follow the official website of DU for any updates.

Which is the better option: SRCC or to pursue CA after standard 12?

SS
Swati Sinha Posted On : January 11th, 2022
B.Com (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (2020)

According to the reviews online, SRCC is a much more reliable option than to pursue CA right after your class 12.

Here are some things that will be better if you choose SRCC:

  • SRCC will play a major role in developing your personality.
  • CA tends to limit your learning and knowledge to only classes and studies. But SRCC will give you a chance to explore and learn various industry related things.
  • SRCC will give you proper training which will be relevant when you join the industry.
  • Studying in a college is basically like working in a professional environment. You have to maintain punctuality and prioritize your work.
  • Lastly, even if you are unsure about studying CA, studying in a college will give you clarity.

Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for SRCC rather than rushing with the stress of being a CA.

Which is better: H.B.Econ. from SRCC or IPM from IIM Indore?

AP
Amrapali Patel Posted On : August 30th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Indore (2020)

SRCC is an established and well-known institution affiliated with the University of Delhi. The institution has a pretty good faculty and the curriculum being taught there is also considered to be of high standards. If you are planning to prepare a solid CV for your career, I would suggest that you opt for a course of your interest at SRCC.

These are just some views I gathered by interacting with students of these institutes.

  • The curriculum followed at IPM has been mocked by several candidates because of its diversity. It does not include specific topics for a particular specialization.
  • However, for the batch of 2016-21, a new curriculum has been introduced by the authorities which is more focussed on areas like Economics, Quantitative aptitude, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology.
  • These areas are also considered to be the 5 pillars of management at the PGDM level by many individuals working in the field of business and management.
  • The placement of the institution is also quite good with the average package approximately equal to the amount which usually gets offered to candidates studying at the Postgraduate level.
Categories Economics (Hons.) at SRCC IPM at IIM Indore
Course Fee 45,000 26 lakh
Course Duration 3 years 5 years
Highest CTC 25 LPA 28 LPA
Average CTC 8-10 LPA 15-18 LPA
Recruiting Companies Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Amazon, etc. ICICI Bank, American Express, Mindtree, HCL, etc.

My brother was eligible for admission at SRCC but instead, he opted for IPM because it was favoring his interests, environment, and several other factors. You can too make a decision based on your interests and several other factors which you think are important for your career.

BBA(FIA) from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (2020)

You should choose SSCBS.

  • It has a strict admission procedure. Even students from reserved categories need to perform well in GD and PI to get admission. So, the student crowd of the institute is great.
  • It maintained a good placement record over the year. According to the recent highlights of SSCBS placements, students received an average CTC of INR 9.26 LPA.
  • It has one of the best campuses in Delhi.

SSCBS offers good academics, placements, and an enviable campus experience.

Where does Delhi School of economics stand in comparison to DFS, DBE, IIMs, SRCC GBO and Ambedkar University?

AR
Abhilasha Roy Posted On : January 19th, 2021
B.A Hons. Economics, University of Delhi (2021)

Delhi School of Economics is one of the best institutes in India, reputed for its MA (Economics), MBA (IB), and MBA (HRM). DSE has a brand value that helps you in the industry. Students of DSE are working in the top managerial posts in the corporate world.

Other colleges DFS, DBE, IIM, SRCC GBO are known for the different flagship courses they offer.

DSE:

  • MBA is not the flagship program at the Delhi School of Economics. However, it has good faculty and nice placements.
  • In DSE for the batch of 2020 the highest package offered was 18 LPA and the average package offered was 10.57 LPA.
  • DSE has distinguished alumni like Dr. Amartya Sen, Pranoy Roy (Founder & Executive Chairperson, NDTV), Prof. Kaushik Basu (Chief Economist).

DFS:

  • DFS is known for its flagship offering MBA (Finance). The college boasts of experienced faculty and provides better placement opportunities for its students.
  • In DFS for the batch of 2020 the highest package offered was 21 LPA and the average package offered was 10.5 LPA.

DBE:

  • DBE is known for its specialized offering of MBA in Business Economics. The course is offered by experienced faculty and provides a good opportunity for the students.
  • In DBE for the batch of 2020 the highest package offered was 21.5 LPA and the average package offered was 10.5 LPA.

IIMs:

  • IIMs are the best in the country when it comes to management education in India. IIM A, B, C consistently feature in the top 100 colleges to do MBA in the world.
  • They have experienced faculty, world-class facilities, an internationally accepted curriculum, and a rich alumni base. They offer the best placement opportunities for the students and research facilities if they wish to continue so.

SRCC:

  • At SRCC, GBO is a specialized course offered by the institute.
  • SRCC has a huge reputation, brand value, and has highly experienced faculty.
  • In SRCC, GBO received the highest package of 18.81 LPA and the average package offered was 10.16 LPA for 2020.

Ambedkar University is a good college but cannot be compared with the colleges mentioned above.

The selection of the institute depends on your choice of specialization. If you are interested in Mathematics or Economics, then DSE will be the best choice. For an MBA in Finance, IIM C/I/A/B will be the best option. DFS is also good for Finance. For MBA Marketing, FMS/IIM-A/IIM-B is better. IIMs are also best for HR or IT. For fields like Tread, Research, International Marketing, or Sales DSE will be best.
