A friend of mine has told me that IGIT Sarang has the best fests and if someone is enthusiastic about the fests, then it is the place to be.
It is arguably one of the fewer colleges in Odisha in recent years that welcomes the freshers in the grandest fashion through a fest called Consciencia. Students get acquainted with the legacy of the institution right from the get-go through this fest.
There are so many fests in IGIT that sometimes you will lose track of how much you are prepared for the exams.
To conclude, all the branches welcome their freshers through their unique fests. It also organize farewells for students who have completed their education at the institution.
The hostels for the female students are called the Rohini Bhawan and Prithvi Bhawan. The occupancy for the former is 6 students in one room. The hostel is for the first and second-year students.
The Prithvi Bhawan accommodates students who are in their third and final year. The occupancy is 5 students in one room.
The hostel for the first-year students which is more popularly called the Aakash Bhawan accommodates four students in one room. The same can be said for the hostel for the students of the second year which is called the Aryabhatta Bhawan.
The third-year students are allotted the Brahmos Bhawan and the Bhaskar Bhawan. In the former hostel, there are 2 students in one room, and in the latter, there are 4 students.
In the final year, the students are allotted the Surya Bhawan. In this arrangement, 1 student gets one room.
In the last four years, the scenario has remarkably changed for the better. Ragging has not been heard of for some years now. The juniors are interacted with and are imparted knowledge for better use in the future.
IGIT Sarang boasts of having some of the best rapport among the seniors and their juniors. You of course should introduce yourselves to your seniors and be respectful with them. They will become like a family to you after you have been well acquainted with them. The seniors are also known to even take care of your petty expenses. A senior of mine told me that she even got a free ride from one of her then seniors.
Building a good relationship with your seniors and peers is important and it goes without saying. They will guide you a lot in your future endeavors. The bonding you will have with your seniors will also help you hone your versatility in the long run.
