I got a 1400 rank with a 720 GATE score. What is the probability that I can get admission in NITIE, Mumbai?

PGDPM from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

The required GATE cutoff varies each year. NITIE Mumbai GATE cutoff 2021 was 609 for general category students. A GATE score of in the 600-700 band is considered to be safe.

The second step of the selection process is GD-PI. This round depends on your profile and the way you will drive the interview. The institute assigns some weightage to the profile of the students for selection as well. But the percentage isn’t disclosed.

According to one of my friends studying at NITIE Mumbai, a GD, PI call is required for admission at NITIE, Mumbai.

Since there is no seasonality and there are numerous elements to consider while shortlisting -

  • Clear the cut offs based on the GATE scores.
  • The cut off varies every year, but is generally 700+.
  • After this comes the GD and PI round for the shortlisted candidates.
  • The GD will include current trends and topics.
  • The PI will be based mostly on your skills and abilities.

Anticipating the call after the GD PI session is difficult and the probability is quite low. Hopefully, if you have a good score overall, there is a chance to get into NITIE Mumbai.

Apply for all three courses which are PGDIE, PGDPM, and PGDMM respectively and your odds of receiving a call are likely to be high.
