studied Electrical Engineering at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is a part of Dayanand Sagar University campus. DSCE is an autonomous institution and is affiliated with VTU. Dayanand Sagar Institutions as a whole are well-known for their quality of education.

You don’t need to worry about placements, because placement drive happens under one roof, i.e. DSI. If you are skilled and maintain a good percentile throughout your degree, you can get decent placement opportunities. The average package offered during the recent placement drive at DSU is 6 LPA. During 2021 placements, the highest package offered for DSCE was INR 32 LPA.

Studied at DSU

DSCE has been ranked at 73 for Engineering by India Today in 2020. DSU on the other hand has been ranked at 115 for Management by Edu rank in 2020. While both the institutions come under Dayananda Sagar Institutes (DSI), they differ from each other on multiple levels.

Let us have a look at the difference between the two academic institutions based on the given points.

Affiliation:

  • Being a private autonomous university, DSCE is affiliated to VTU and is run by Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust (MGVP).

  • DSU on the other hand comes under the belt of DSI itself. It is an AIU member and has been recognized by the UGC.

Degree:

  • Since DSCE comes under VTU, the degree offered will be in association with the institution. Getting a degree affiliated with VTU will be highly beneficial for students.

  • While the degrees offered by DSU are officially by the DSI body, the degree obtained is directly commissioned by DSI, which is also a reputable institution.

Academics:

DSCE:

  • It was the very first institute established by DSI and offers 15 UG and 13 PG programs across BE/BTech, MTech, BArch, MBA, and MCA offering a variety of specializations.

  • It also has multiple professional societies, a total of 20 research centers, and has a core focus on research developments across all departments.

DSU:

  • It was established recently and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering, Arts, Management, Commerce, Health Sciences, and Applied sciences.

  • It has a total of 53 courses across 9 streams and observes a detailed course structure.

Campus:

DSCE:

  • The DSCE campus has a well-stocked library with automated RFID technology, a sports complex, multiple practical labs, and AC classrooms.

  • The institute also received nearly Rs 4 crores from leading organizations like ISRO, DBT, and DST to develop research activities.

DSU:

  • The DSU campus has modern and well-updated smart classrooms, practical labs, seminar halls, amphitheater, and more.

  • It also features a large sound-proof andAV floor along with 3 auditoriums, a convenience store, and research labs.

Placements:

DSCE:

  • It observes an overall average placement rate of 75% with more than 70 top companies visiting the campus every year.

  • The highest CTC is observed to be 7 LPA, median CTC 2.5 LPA, and average CTC 3.5 LPA.

  • Some of the top recruiters are Accenture and HCL.

DSC:

  • It has an overall annual placement rate of 60%.

  • The median CTC has been observed to be 5 LPA.

  • Some of the top recruiters are Cognizant and Dell.

Based on the given important factors, students can make their choice between the two esteemed institutions.
