Avoid choosing NIT Jalandhar if your goal is to study ECE for the sake of studying ECE sincerely and devotedly.

ECE at NIT Jalandhar emphasizes placement, specifically in an IT company. As an ECE student, you'll be expected to perform exceptionally well in coding and other CSE-related courses. Additionally, the compensation packages provided by core businesses fall well short of what an ECE student would expect, further decreasing the appeal of ECE core.

It is recommended that you choose another institute if you're passionate about electronics and want to pursue a successful career in the field rather than NITJ.

A friend of mine is pursuing ECE from NIT Jalandhar. Here is some of the information about the course which you may find useful.

Curriculum:

In the first year, the subjects are almost the same for all the students from all the branches, that is whatever the CSE students learn is the same as ECE or IPE students.

Faculty:

In the aspect of faculty, the amazing faculty team is a boon to this college.

Dr. Arun Khosla is amazing, whether a student is interested in research or planning any startup, he can help.
Next is Dr. Mamta Khosla, she is one of the most caring and supportive faculty. She is a faculty in Digital electronics. She is often termed as the mother of ECE students.
There are also other supportive faculties such as Dr. RK Sunkaria (HOD ECE), Dr. Ashish Raman, and Dr. Nitesh Kashyap.
There are also some very knowledgeable faculties such as Sir Pavan Kumar for EDC and SIR Avasti for Signals and systems.

Laboratories:

The ECE department has been recently shifted in the new building. The equipment in the ECE department is old but functioning and manageable.

Placement:

In the terms of placements, there is a slight disappointment in terms of core jobs. Students learn to code and get placed in that area. The average package is reported to be INR 10.36 LPA while the highest placement offered in ECE was INR 43 LPA by Microsoft.

If you are really interested in coding and did not get a chance in CSE, ECE from NIT Jalandhar is a good alternative.
