How is the placement at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata at present?
I know a few people from the institute so I know a little bit about the institute. St. Xavier's University is not a good university for business management courses and the placements here are not very good.
- For the academic year 2020, companies like Deloitte, EY came here for placements but the package offered is very less with an average package of around 3.5 - 4.2 LPA. And the roles for which the students are hired are not even required MBA specialization.
- The placement officer at the institute is not very cooperative. The management also told the students who were opting for HR that there won't be enough jobs available and they won't be responsible for it.
- The MBA students have to appear for interviews with the same group of B.Com, Eco Hons, Eco M.A, BMS students instead of paying higher fees of almost three times and the hostel fees which are compulsory too. The course cost around 14 lakhs.
Instead of joining St. Xavier's University with such high fees and poor academics and placements, it is better to choose any other business school with good placements.

The course fee is only INR 2.35 Lakhs.

St. Xavier’s College Kolkata is one of the most popular colleges in the country. It is an old college with a strict and disciplined curriculum. The college has a proven track record of offering excellent academics and co-curricular.
St. Xavier’s University is a new university and is still in the early stages of development. It won’t be fair to compare the two institutions at this stage.
